I still think Arthur Blank paid the refs off
Posted by TigerFaninBammerLand on 1/25/19 at 10:02 pm
NFL wanted LA market engaged and Arthur didn’t want The Who Dat Nation invading Atlanta. Why not pay the refs off to miss some calls to make it hard but not impossible to win the game? Seems like we were on an uphill battle all game with missed calls on both offense and defense. None more agregous than the last PI

Well it was hard enough to watch Aaron Brooks on TV then, even harder in person. His post interception smiles were bigger on TV

I still have nightmares thinking of Jefferson on the field. Harris has a better arm and more of a pure passer than Jefferson IMO. The problem is he is still gun shy because the coaches (or coach) are afraid to turn him loose until it is too late, and then he feels he let everyone down when he makes a mistake. You have to build confidence in the kid which the coaches have not done through play calling. Mistakes happen and you can learn from it, but if you haven't been put in that situation enough, how can you learn? How many times have we had 3rd and long and we call a draw or counter instead of letting him throw the ball to make a play? That has to demoralize a QB and create doubt in his confidence.
re: LSU fans, please tell us what Morgantown, WV is like during and after a game
Posted by TigerFaninBammerLand on 8/29/16 at 11:25 pm
So here is my story of events at Morgantown during the LSU vs. WV game in 2011
Tailgating - Set up with my friend's friends who attended undergrad there. Very nice people and enjoyed company. WARNING - Pace yourself with moonshine. I tried two versions they brought, peach and cherry, and they were good (Cherry was amazing). My best friend proceeded to intake too much, and then things escalated after he slapped someone in the face. I was fortunate to have his friend take care of him to try and sober up some (unsuccessfully). I apologized for his behavior and calmed the situation.
Route to Stadium - At this point I grabbed my drunk friend to hit the porta johns then head into the stadium. I stopped to talk to some LSU fans and turned around to find him gone. Unfortunately he had BOTH our tickets (one lesson you learn after the only time it happens).
Tailgating during the game - Since my drunk friend was MIA after searching the stadium entrance and all over, I walked to our tailgate, grabbed an ice chest of beer to find the game on TV with WV fans tailgating. One guy was giving me crap, but I just let him talk (Side note I was wearing my P&G Sombrero and Corn Dog Nation shirt). Another fan at the tailgate started yelling at the guy complaining about their rep, and they came to blows. The guy starting it was thrown out of their tailgate. I gave the guy a beer, I then watched the game in peace and had a good time considering.
After Game - I left the tailgate headed to our friends only to find my drunk friend about to get in a fight with a WV guy who says he's from Louisiana and loves JAMbalaya (seemed justified?). I coral him and get to our tailgate. After arriving multiple people walking out threatened us to get the f out of dodge. I was approached by an older gent saying he was going to fight me and my friend if we don't leave. Not wanting to cause trouble for our new tailgate friends, I coral my drunk friend and drag him bear claw style all the way to the car losing my Costas in the process (my contribution to WV). Luckily no escalation on the way but had close calls.
Summary - Had an experience and story I will tell for a lifetime. There are some nice people (a lot people there from New Jersey surprisingly) and some bad eggs like any place. I have been to several other places and would recommend them over Morgantown, though it is better than Oxford.
Where was drunk friend after losing him with our tickets? - He proceeded to walk the opposite way to the hospital on the other side of the tailgating parking lot and gave his ticket to a police officer at the entrance to the hospital. Cop pointed opposite direction and said "Stadium is that way."

Landing early Thursday morning. Staying in Sheboygan with cousin and driving up Saturday morning to find a place to pregame. Room to take others up if you can meet in Sheboygan.

Just watch out. I was there in 2010 and had a corndog thrown at me. What a waste of a corndog!

Seemed like they showed more punting than in any other college fb replay in recent memory.
We Love Les Signs at the game

Anyone else notice it seemed like only women in the stands were holding the "We Love Les" posters? I realize guys don't normally have posters at the game, but it seemed odd to me.
re: Play calling set up to win
Posted by TigerFaninBammerLand on 11/11/15 at 2:51 am
I agree 2013 was more embarassing. I was more disappointed in the defensive play calling especially on 3rd down. They seemed to eat us up with the wr mid screen. I seem to recall at least 3 times with 3rd and 7 to 9 yards where they ran this and we couldn't stop it. A few was missed tackles, but with the down and distance you would think another player could make a tackle before making the marker.
re: CBS Night Game
Posted by TigerFaninBammerLand on 9/29/15 at 10:14 pm
Wrong. I believe only LSU vs. Bama, LSU vs. Fla, and Bama vs. Fla are the only night games broadcast by CBS since they have received the extra night game.
re: Spinoff from MSB; What's been the coldest game in Tiger Stadium?
Posted by TigerFaninBammerLand on 8/20/15 at 12:30 am
This was the coldest game I went to. I went as a kid with my buddy and his family wearing my Kevin Faulk jersey, Nike pullover, which was open on the back, and Nike windpants with no liner. Froze but made it through the game. Kicking ND's arse is worth it all the time!

Freshman year. I was lucky enough to get a ticket from another friend. Amazing experience and still gives me goosebumps

It's not bad. It's like the next Entourage.
I too had to rewind the intro a few times at first to be sure. No dice on LSU there.

re: Question about building credit with cards?
Posted by TigerFaninBammerLand on 4/20/15 at 4:25 am
You can still get a mortgage via manual underwriting. On the car, I would feel great then since IMO cars should be paid for in cash.
re: Question about building credit with cards?

Pay with cash. I have 0 cards except one with work. Paid off almost all my debt and already have emergency fund. Saving for house now. Screw the credit score. Cash is king and speaks louder than a BS credit score IMO.
