I think Washington Regional or something like that
Mallet only has to convince one team that he is OK and he is a first rounder. He has the tools without a doubt. He apparently has made a mistake but there are very few freshman and sophomores who haven't. I do think that the valid concern is his mobility to avoid a pass rush. Watching Drew Brees play against the Falcons last year I remember questioning whether Mallet could be strong against the rush the way Brees was.

I knew all the state abbreviations in high school. Why journalists and sportscasters do not know these is a mystery to me.

Mike has had the infrastructure to get to more than two sweet sixteens in ten years. Missouri compared to Marquette and UAB is skewed in favor of Mizzou. I guess we would be happy with two sweet sixteens in ten years compared to what has gone down the last ten years but I kinda want something more. Mike has not recruited that well at Mizzou and has come in no better than third in the Big12.....I really don't think that is all that great.

The point of all my points was that Mike is NOT the best choice IMO. Buzz is the best choice. We cannot screw it up this time around IMO. I'm out.

Damn. It isn't that Mike does not like or recruit big men. He just cannot get them because big men do not like to run............

shite! I am logging off!

Well, good luck finding 6'5" players that can rebound with 6'8" players. They are few and far between. I prefer them as well. The great majority of teams utilize at least one big man. That big man does not like to run and press simply because he carries more weight and cannot "show off" his personal game. Therefore, a big man will never go to a program where he cannot show off his personal game for the NBA. Mike Anderson would be able to get 20+ wins each season but would not be able to beat teams like UNC that I am watching right now that have capable big men. Therefore, Mike would never win a championship.

I like Anderson. But he...like Nolen...cannot recruit one or more big men. Big men do not like to play a pressing running game. Big men get more rebounds and block more shots than little men. Big men are essential in a half court game. Therefore, the forty minutes of hell will never be again. So, why try to play it again?

I'm saying all another team has to do is go into a half court game with wise shooting and this negates the other teams defensive rebounding and running game. Big men do not like to run. They like to play half court. Mizzou was smashed last night by double digits with this same strategy. Nolen was beaten over and over by this same playbook. Buzz Williams is a better choice than Mike simply because he MAY be able to get big men and play half court.

Big men generally get the most rebounds....this is obvious. It is also obvious that Nolen could not get big men in the latter years. Mizzou got hammered by double digits last night by a slow down, methodical offense. In basketball, big men are essential. Big men do not want to run and press.

Mike is like Nolen. This pressing and running style is outdated. No big men want to run, therefore, Big men will not come to Arkansas. There goes the rebounding. All another team has to do is slow it down, hit their shots, and have a clear shot at the rebound. Simple. Missouri and UAB and in the latter years Arkansas were defeated by this formula. Mike Anderson should NOT be hired because big men are key to winning.
Two or three pro head coaches have already been fired this season. It is pro football....a business. Petrino found another job. Nothing wrong with that.

I remember the first game with Houston in BB the year they joined the conference. They were very good. It was in Fayetteville and televised. Martin Terry and the Hogs blew them out by approx. 40 pts. Remember the tall red-headed radio man for the Hogs always yelling and screaming about refs calls when we played Houston in later years. Especially the games against Drexler and Olajuwon. I think he got fired for all that animation. IMO the SWC turned to crap in the late 80's and even the best SWC teams could not win a bowl game to save their lives....Arkansas included.

Good game Tigers....

Wish you well in your bowl game.
A&M really turned this season around. I thought they would tank earlier.
I figured it would be close as well.....our WR's legs are tired at this point in the season. Mullen is a heckova coach though.
I've heard him talk plenty over the last two years and he's straight.
Hood? Thug? I don't get it.
Like Mullen alot. Yearly improvement for State.
