The ACC has Clemson and the rest of the conference sucks right now. They have some former name brands like Miami, FSU, and VT who have never really met the expectations the ACC thought they would when they joined.

I think this season UNC and Miami both will be really good, and if Milton can be the player he once was then FSU could be sneaky.

Oregon with Cristobal can build something nice, and with Phil Knight for NIL deals I think Oregon could take a leap forward. Sooner or later USC has to get back to form.

It won't get them anywhere. All it's going to do is inflate their egos, and drive people away from the sport

Imagine thinking this

Great. Now every player is gonna be some lame “entrepreneur” with a “brand”

If it gets them their well deserved bag, then good.

It really all boils down to one question with this NIL stuff.

Should a human being be allowed to profit off of their NIL? If you don't believe so... wow.

Championships matter more than draft picks.

2020 >> 2018 by a mile.

And I'm not disagreeing...

If given the choice, would anyone here draft Tua over Mac?

That's right. Mac Jones was significantly better than Tua, which lead to an offensive consistently that 2018 never had.

Mac's performance wasn't all that different from Tua's. In fact, 2019 Tua had a higher passer rating and YPA than Mac. The 2019 OL was great, though the 2020 version was certainly better. Plus Mac had a better version of Smitty, Waddle (for a few games), and Najee. The trade off being Tua had Jeudy and Ruggs.

Personally I take Tua. His ball placement is the best I've ever seen at the collegiate level, and his athleticism (when healthy) was a nice bonus weapon teams would forget about here and there. I love Mac, and the completion percentage would confuse people, but he didn't put the ball in the spots that Tua did, and I love me some insane accuracy. Mac wasn't very far behind though, and considering he's with the GOAT NFL coach he might have a better NFL career due to that fact if anything. :pimp:

We lost by 28 to Clemson with this roster.

No.

Results =/= talent. I wasn't calling them the best team, just (arguably) the most talented. :dunno:

RB: Damien Harris (3rd Round Pick), Josh Jacobs (1st Round Pick), Najee Harris (1st Round Pick)
WR: DeVonta Smith (1st Round Pick), Jerry Jeudy (1st Round Pick), Jaylen Waddle (1st Round Pick), Henry Ruggs (1st Round Pick)

LG: Deonte Brown (6th Round Pick)

RG: Alex Leatherwood (1st Round Pick)
RT: Jedrick Wills (1st Round Pick)

That's every starter/major contributor. Waddle didn't start, but played with the ones and was 2nd on the team in receiving yardage. Damien started at RB, but Jacobs and Najee both played regularly with the ones. This does exclude Lester Cotton, who started 10 games at LG compared to Brown's 5. Cotton went undrafted. Hale Hentges played a bit too, but only caught 4 passes. He went undrafted.

This doesn't even mention the two backup QBs went in the 2nd and 1st round. You had a 1st round QB throwing to four 1st round WRs and a 2nd round TE, plus two 1st round RBs and a 3rd round RB. He was protected by three 1st round OL.
Depends how a lot of guys develop. Defensively I do think we take a step back, but offensively we could still be a force. JD will give us a dominant scorer that we haven't really had with Nate, and a guy who can iso when the situation calls for it. I don't think we change the entire scheme to everyone standing around while JD cooks, that would be a disservice to the wonderful offense Nate has implemented, but having a guy who can go one on one and dominate his man consistently will be a nice addition to the offense.

QB: Bryce Young
RB: Trey Sanders
TE: Jahleel Billingsley
WR: John Metchie
WR: Slade Bolden
WR: Jacorey Brooks
LT: Evan Neal
LG: Tommy Brockermeyer
C: Chris Owens
RG: Pierce Quick
RT: JC Latham

Brian Robinson is coming back so he probably gets the starting nod. Also Emil Ekiyor just started all year at RG and did good, no reason for him not to be starting in 2021.

DE: Justin Eboigbe
DT: Tim Smith
DE: DJ Dale
OLB: Chris Allen
MLB: Christian Harris
MLB: Demouy Kennedy
OLB: Will Anderson
CB: Josh Jobe
CB: Ga’Quincy McKinstry
S: Brian Branch
S: Jordan Battle
Star: MalachiMoore

Mathis probably starts at your second DE spot, Dale stays at Nose and splits time with Tim Smith. Not much else to say really, I like the rest of your defensive lineup. Branch needs to play in more than Dime, Wright/Hellams can come in when we go Dime. Kennedy is a good choice next to Harris, but a lot of guys are going for that job. Shane Lee, Moody, and maybe even Drew Sanders if we move him inside.

Nothing against Damien Harris, he is a good RB and all. But he should have never gotten reps when Najee and Josh Jacobs were both on the roster.

Damien averaged more YPC than Jacobs all 3 years they played together.
Great to have his experience back. I think he either plays Center or Left Guard. If he plays LG, Dalcourt plays Center. If he plays Center, Pierce Quick, Tommy Brown, or Kendall Randolph have to be the favorites at LG. Whether Neal stays at RT or flips to LT, I think the other OT spot will belong to one of Brockermeyer or Latham. I lean Brockermeyer. In that scenario, I could see Latham playing LG for a year then kicking to OT when Neal goes pro.
B Rob returning is interesting. He's been solid and gives us a leadership presence. I don't think he gets near the touches Najee did just because of how good guys like Jase, Trey, and Camar are, but I think he gets the starting nod and him and 2 of those 3 (maybe all 3) share the load fairly evenly. Happy to have him back.

Who all should return for your D?

A lot. It should be much improved.

Only lose Surtain in the secondary. Only loses Moses at LB (and there's an off chance he comes back). Only lose Barmore in the DEEP DL rotation.

Plus all the guys we're adding like Koolaid and Dallas Turner. The 2021 defense, on paper, should be the best Bama defense since 2016. Should.

I'm excited for the Wright/Battle combo honestly. This year under their belt, gonna be very good next season.

Feel like Branch is too good to only play in Dime, IMO.
This dynasty run really needs a huuuuuge HBO documentary. High production value and hours and hours of content. And this ride ain't over yet.
