Ironically, I feel better about our defense in this game than I have the last few games. Alabama's offense is fairly traditional and pass heavy, which LSU can match up better with. Simpson can run when needed, but he will not beat you with his legs. Not saying LSU wins, but this one could be very interesting.

Who knows what the LSU offense will look like though.

I am in Shreveport and the guide is not the most accurate to say the least. However, I don't record games and watching live has never been an issue.

Only issues I have really dealt with are with my ISP more than anything. Antenna works great and the Tablo usually has no trouble streaming what's available as long as the internet works.

Get a cheap antenna and Tablo if you live in Louisiana. You should be able to get every game that is not nationally televised.

Antenna to pick up the signal. Tablo to stream it. Most cost effective measure by far (legally).
As much as I love Winter Soldier, Batman Begins is the best Batman movie ever made (even including The Dark Knight).

It really captured the right tone for Batman, as well as establishing Gotham as it's own character in the movie. It has better cinematography, better pacing, a better score, and better character work.

Again, I dearly love TWS and it is probably the best MCU movie. But BB is one of the best superhero movies, period. I'm not sure TWS is even a top 5 superhero movie.

Try The Napoleonic Wars by Alexander Mikaberidze. That seems like it would fit what you are looking for.
Nah. The hatred from LSU fans goes:

1. Bama
2. Ole Miss
3. Florida

(These can all be rotated depending on the season - but the hatred is strong for all 3 of these.)

4. Auburn

5. USCw

7. Everyone else. We hate these teams on principle when we play, but don't care otherwise.
I've seen:

Joe Burrow torch Oklahoma.

the 7 OT nightmare in College Station

Les Miles last bout of incompetence at Auburn

But probably most impressive, I watched Mark McGwire hit homer number 45 against the Brewers in 98.

You pretty much nailed it. It is one of those places where the tradition and community put the emphasis on basketball. They also do not have football, so that is all they have. To be fair, Pleasant Hill and the other schools in that parish (except Many) are the same way.

They haven't really ever recruited to my knowledge (unlike the current coach at Pleasant Hill).

Knowing people from both towns, I am willing to bet that the Zwolle people have it right. It does look awfully suspicious that they only release these allegations on the day that the kids were ruled ineligible by the LHSAA. Bradley McClaren has been the coach for over 20 years and principal for at least 10. Why has nothing like this ever come out before?

I did. I think it might have settled me on getting a laptop. I just don't know what I would need to look for in order to get the best experience for the most reasonable price.

1. I don't want to spend too much money, but I'm willing to go to around $1,500 (though I am much more comfortable with 1,000).
2. I want the graphics to look good, but this is not as big of a concern for me.
3. I am not really sure what this means, but I would prefer the game to run smoothly (few bugs or glitches).

I do not plan on playing online and I mostly play for story and fun. I would prefer to have something I can carry with me, which is why I am looking at laptops or Steam Deck.

What should I be looking at to determine a nice balance between performance and budget?

PC Gaming Question

Posted by GentlemanTiger on 1/29/24 at 9:45 am
So, I am looking at getting either a gaming laptop or possibly even a Steam Deck. I have primarily been a console gamer, but with some of the games released in the last year (Starfield, Baldur's Gate, FF16), it just doesn't seem a console would be my best bet to be able to play all of these games. Plus, I have been spoiled by my Switch and the ability to take it anywhere.

So my question is what would y'all recommend to get? I really have no idea what I am doing

ETA: I do not currently have either a PS5 or X-Box Series X. PC seemed like the best compromise to play the games that actually interest me. It may be more expensive, but it would not require me to buy multiple systems and be able to take my games with me.
Like the title says, what time does the campus close to traffic on game days? Specifically on 7:00 pm kickoffs. This will be for the 18th specifically, so not an SEC game.
Your answer is the Aubrey-Maturin novels by Patrick O'Brian. These are very much about the details of life at sea.
Not LSU related necessarily, but I dreamt that I was at Disney World and was kidnapped and taken to a Florida State game and I had to sit through the whole thing while they did the chop the entire time.

It was horrifying.
Definitely the Dresden Files. Might be the best audio series out there. Just a heads up, the first couple of books are kinda rough (but entertaining), but they find their groove and the series is a blast. James Marsters ftw.

Wheel of Time is great, especially if you have been on a Sanderson kick. Also, Joe Abercrombie's books with Stephen Pacey's narration is just sublime.
Ozymandias might be the correct answer, but I would also like to submit The Constant from Lost.

Remedial Chaos Theory from Community is in the discussion as well.

Bama was lucky to escape UGA in 2012 and needed some teams to lose in 2011 to get back to number two.

Not to mention that Bama needed a miraculous last-minute drive to beat LSU in 2012 as well :banghead:

And Oklahoma State to completely shite the bed in their conference game
It's an Almodovar film. The real surprise would have been it being played straight. Some members of this board might be down for his work, but everyone else will likely want to pass.
I read the article and the guy had a problem writing about someone who is not the most (self-admittedly) exciting person on the planet. It also does not help that Brandon seems to be pretty open about who he is on his social media channels. He is a guy who loves to write and tell stories. Maybe that boring nature is what makes him so prolific?

Anyway, it's okay to comment on the author, but to comment on his family and friends in the article like he did is below the belt.

Brandon is clearly a much better man than me, because someones talks shite about my wife or kids or friends, and I'm gonna meeting a baw outside Sonic. Brandon is the public figure and discourse around him (positive or negative) is completely valid. Taking shots at his family is not okay.

re: What are you reading?

I would say that The Road or No Country For Old Men would be better starting points for McCarthy. They are easier reads, but still give you an idea if McCarthy is your cup of tea. Blood Meridian is still a fantastic book though.
