I did. I think it might have settled me on getting a laptop. I just don't know what I would need to look for in order to get the best experience for the most reasonable price. ...

1. I don't want to spend too much money, but I'm willing to go to around $1,500 (though I am much more comfortable with 1,000). 2. I want the graphics to look good, but this is not as big of a concern for me. 3. I am not really sure what this means, but I would prefer the game to run smoothly (f...

PC Gaming Question

So, I am looking at getting either a gaming laptop or possibly even a Steam Deck. I have primarily been a console gamer, but with some of the games released in the last year (Starfield, Baldur's Gate, FF16), it just doesn't seem a console would be my best bet to be able to play all of these games. P...
Like the title says, what time does the campus close to traffic on game days? Specifically on 7:00 pm kickoffs. This will be for the 18th specifically, so not an SEC game. ...
Your answer is the Aubrey-Maturin novels by Patrick O'Brian. These are very much about the details of life at sea....
Not LSU related necessarily, but I dreamt that I was at Disney World and was kidnapped and taken to a Florida State game and I had to sit through the whole thing while they did the chop the entire time. It was horrifying. ...
Definitely the Dresden Files. Might be the best audio series out there. Just a heads up, the first couple of books are kinda rough (but entertaining), but they find their groove and the series is a blast. James Marsters ftw. Wheel of Time is great, especially if you have been on a Sanderson kick...
Ozymandias might be the correct answer, but I would also like to submit The Constant from Lost. Remedial Chaos Theory from Community is in the discussion as well. ...
Bama was lucky to escape UGA in 2012 and needed some teams to lose in 2011 to get back to number two.
Not to mention that Bama needed a miraculous last-minute drive to beat LSU in 2012 as well :banghead: And Oklahoma State to completely shite the bed in their conference game ...
It's an Almodovar film. The real surprise would have been it being played straight. Some members of this board might be down for his work, but everyone else will likely want to pass. ...
I read the article and the guy had a problem writing about someone who is not the most (self-admittedly) exciting person on the planet. It also does not help that Brandon seems to be pretty open about who he is on his social media channels. He is a guy who loves to write and tell stories. Maybe that...

re: What are you reading?

I would say that The Road or No Country For Old Men would be better starting points for McCarthy. They are easier reads, but still give you an idea if McCarthy is your cup of tea. Blood Meridian is still a fantastic book though....
HOLD ON TO YOUR BUTTS REGION 1. Die Hard 16. Magnum Force 8. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly 9. Tombstone 5. John Wick 2 12. Mission Impossible 4. The Matrix 13. Top Gun: Maverick 6. The Rock 11. Zulu 3. Top Gun 14. The Fugitive 7....
I haven't read Stormlight yet. I was saving it for when I finished Mistborn Era 2. Unfortunately, Stormlight is required to understand WTF is happening in Lost Metal. My enjoyment of that book was completely tanked by this. Like I understand it, but I would prefer if the series weren't so blaten...
I managed to snag some tickets to the season ticket celebration event on Friday. Has anyone been to one of these events before? If so, do they do autographs or anything? What can we expect?...
It's a good service for keeping up with new books. Most of selections tend to cater to female readers and readers who like the current flavor of the month. Every month has at least one romance or thriller selection. every once in awhile they will have a truly interesting author (Blake Crouch or Cols...

re: Is Stephen king a bad author?

I am Stephen King fan and do not believe he is a hack by any stretch. You don't get the cultural cache that he has by being a hack. Your opinion seems to come from elsewhere instead of being informed by your own actual experience. I have heard many complaints against King (many of them valid - h...
The Lions of Al-Rassan, Under Heaven, and A Brightness Long Ago were great listens. Most of his are read by Simon Vance, which is a sign of quality to me as Vance is one of the best narrators out there. ...
Bad in all sports. Not True! Texas A&M Meat Judging Team Wins National Title
The jokes write themselves at this point. ...
I will admit that I have Marvel fatigue. The quality has dipped somewhat and I don't find myself excited for any of them quite like I was. I enjoyed Shang Chi and Doctor Strange 2 and Wandavision. Other than those, the rest have felt like homework. Still haven't seen Eternals or Love and Thunder...
