re: Latest on Evans

Possibly the most ludicrous speculation I’ve heard on the kid. If he’s really a locker room cancer my money’s on Coach O taking him
What are the chances all his top schools have just decided he’s more trouble than he’s worth. I’ve read he punched the NShore coach before the championship game (probably not true). That he refused to hand his phone in before the game. It’s a fact that he’s been suspended 4x. No secret he wants to play in Athens but based on kirby’s “disease” postgame presser about players getting too full of themselves and that Saban pulled his offer a while ago isn’t it possible Coach O and Jimbo did likewise? Maybe he has to play Juco to prove he’s not a locker room cancer? All that talent. It’s a shame - seems like he’s his own worst enemy.
It was a bad opening weekend. Fine. UT, Mizzou, SC all laid eggs. What do these teams have in common? Obviously they play in the East. Also have new (or new-ish in SC’s case) coaches that are unproven. Priuitt and Muschamp should be on a hotseat - those losses are flat out inexcusable. BUT, those teams STILL have much more talent than every single team in the ACC (save Clemsun).

The ONLY reason you’re even trying to make this point is that you (and anyone with a brain) know that y’all play a ridiculously easy schedule. A&M week 2 and then ... NOBODY. Why not talk about the debacle FSU had Saturday? It’s no secret they suck without Jimbo but that meltdown yesterday was ugly. Who’s left?? Pitt? Syracuse? Gimme a break. The Ags are probably still a year away from shocking people but for every finger wagging frick who love watching SEC teams lose I hope y’all play like you did Thursday. If you do you’ll lose. NOBODY with playoff goals should get to play that powderpuff schedule. Period.

Last year the zebras utterly robbed the Ags. Clemson is obviously years ahead in recruiting but methinks you doth protest too much. That cute blonde under center looked awful last night. Just a fact. But hey y’all should win. It’s the only test on the schedule- A&M won’t make the CFP because of a murderers row of a schedule (and they play in a real conference). Watch the line this week. I GUARANTEE it’ll drop fast). Yeah, you’ll probably win but I wouldn’t be mildly surprised if they pull off the upset. And hey, if you’re more veteran team gets the win it’s not like you don’t play anybody. Syracuse’ll be a real test. Hahahaha...

QB Draft slotting

Not trying to troll any fanbase here but these are the facts (for now). Tua and Herbert will jockey for 1&2 (high day 1). Top tier.

Fromm will be a mid round pick (scouts have serious questions about his arm). He’s a fantastic leader and game manager and could succeed like Kirk Cousins has but he’s not in the same conversation as those top 2.

At the risk of being a homer last nights performance by Kellen was stunning to me. TX State I know but his throws weren’t just a show of whipping a crap team. The velocity, placement, and toughness and poise to deliver the excellent throws when he was about to get hit (O Line was pretty disappointing) would be complete against anyone. IF he can consistently replicate that performance he could be a darkhorse in the draft. He’s neck and neck with Fromm as the 2nd best QB in the league. After those 3 it’s a BIG gap to whoever #4 is. One thing’s for sure: Jimbo knows how to coach up QB’s. Mentally, physically he’s WAY better than when he won the job last fall. IF he can get adequate protection from the front 5 (losing Turner to the NFL was a HUGE blow) he could surprise a lot of people.

Calzada looks AMAZING

Small sample size I acknowledge but did anyone see the UNREAL arm talent when Jimbo sent in the 2’s?? His 2nd pass (I think) was a rocket that should’ve gone for a TD but it was just dropped. Jordan Palmer (perhaps the dumbest frick in sports broadcasting) says “that’s where Zach has to learn to take some velocity off the ball.” It was a DROPPED TD. I was pretty psyched when Haynes King committed but Calzada is absolutely the future. There is NOBODY in CFB that can sling it like this kid (gotta see Herbert - I hear he’s got a great arm but I hate watching PAC 12 games). Reminds me of Stafford at UGA 10 years ago. Kellen played a fantastic game and is clearly THE leader of this year’s team. If this was the ‘18 Mond who was inconsistent it’d be a legit QB controversy. It underscores how dumb the 24/7 ratings are that they totally missed on this kid. I assure you pro scouts took notice.
Can someone please explain why all these butt-hurt OU folks are littering an SEC recruiting board? Trust me - I hate loosing kids who’ve given a verbal to but the ones we’ve lost (Since Jimbo came aboard) have all gone to other SEC-W programs. And Manning is coming to CS - idk if he’ll be a baller or just a depth dude but he’s coming. OU’s delusional fans really ought to stick to trolling on Twitter.

I get the fear Sooners - truly. Your program is made possible by TX HSF. As the trickle of kids from our state slows and eventually stops you won’t have the talent you’ve enjoyed for the past decade/s. And without a real national footprint you’ll be losing out to the OSU’s, Clemson’s, etc. I’d be freaking out too.

I agree (mostly). Mediocre probably isn’t the best way to describe him coming out of IMG. It’s just that he was SO bad as a fish and I don’t think most folks realize the plays he left on the field last year but he was efficient (except for MSU & Auburn). I was just saying that Jimbo basically took a lump of ahhh clay and developed the hell out of him.

I still think HK would be completely nuts to go with the Vols. They’re looking up at mediocrity and will never have a Demond Demas, Baylor Cupp, and many many more to catch passes in the hills. But maybe it wouldn’t be the worst thing. He has a bit of a funky delivery and Caldeza looks like the real deal. 247 evals are NOT infallible. PAT MAHOMES was a 3*

Good point
The Pigs have royally F’d up by taking Morris’s kid. It’ll wreck the locker room for obvious reasons and more importantly NO qb in ‘21 or ‘22 will even consider signing there. Every recruit that even thinks silently about Arky will be told by every other coach that he has no chance of seeing the field when the HC’s kid is on the roster. Y’all better hope Morris is Tua level once he takes the field cuz NOBODY will be coming at that position for a LONG time. Better hope the transfer portal can get you a decent QB (like Starkel) if/when Morris doesn’t pan out...
This one’s in the bag folks. HK has all the skills to play in the NFL. His pop’s a TX HSF legend and he’ll see the value of Jimbo’s pro style scheme and his ability to develop these QB’s. I mean nothing against Kellen but if Jimbo can take a mediocre talent signed by Sumlin and turn him into the 3rd best QB in the league imagine what he could do with HK. Plus the Ags have some ELITE dudes at WR and TE. It’s a done deal- he’s probably just putting together a killer commit video. Expect it to drop on Thurs-Fri

If Kellen’s “trash” what does that make Greedy, Delpit, and Burrow hahaha (god he’s bad). SCOREBOARD moron (and get ready to be blown out this year.) It’ll make a good excuse for Woodward to Fire Coach O’s sorry arse
I’ve gotta admit - GA fans are classier than I realized. Still pissed that y’all couldn’t represent the conference in the SB - I always thought Kirby had a knack for getting his guys ready to play. That was the ultimate no-show and kinda makes me question him but a good chunk of your fans seem like good people (as opposed to LSU - ultimate whiners, UF, or OU - the absolute worst). Oh - and AO is gonna be a MONSTER up front.
LSU ready? You can’t be serious. EVERY LSU fan I know who’ll speak honestly knows Coach O will never get them into the top of the West. I personally can’t stand LSU but I respect the hell out of how they recruit & develop that D (esp on the back end). It’s just mystifying that NOBODY can get anything going with the Offense. I mean if I was a skill position kid that played on that side of the ball I wouldn’t even consider them. Since about Mettenberger it’s been an absolute dumpster fire.

So why on earth would a top 100 WR opting for Jimbo’s soon to be powerhouse ever consider LSU. You KNOW the Tigers would have LOVED a commitment like TO. Think about M Dupree. Uber-talented and could barely get the ball before entering the draft then barely getting drafted. Is he even in the league still?
See: Nebraska
Tennessee
Miami
FSU
Texas
USC
LSU (when Woodward pulls the plug on Coach O and the rebuild begins)
OU (when Lincoln bolts for $50M a year in the NFL)
Hate to sound like a homer but I’m more than confident King will stay home. I was listening to the 247 pod after he was in CS last weekend and Brooks really emphasized how well the visit went. He talked about what a big deal his dad is in TX HSF. I agree with the earlier poster that Caldeza has looked really good. If Jimbo whiffs on King I’ll be very disappointed.

I think you should worry about what is going on with A&M
Not to mention what happened with Florida St at OL.
If anyone has a track record of failing to develop OL it is Jimbo.

You’ve gone full on delusional if you think the dumpster fire @FSU is REMOTELY on Jimbo. He took a pedestrian A&M OL that sucked at everything except tunnel screens under Sumlin into a top group in a SMASHMOUTH conference. Number one rusher in the SEC ran behind those dudes. THAT’S what player development looks like. I get that’s something you don’t see in Austin.

This is so PAINFULLY obvious I feel like a turd for even stooping:

1. Beating a demoralized UGA in the Sugar Bowl (will never understand how Kirby couldn’t get his guys up for that one) does NOT make ‘Sips the de facto SEC champs. Not now. Not in a million years. If the Great Kirby Smart plays that game 100 times with those players they MIGHT lose twice.

The difference between getting lucky and beating UGA one day is night/day compared to lining up Saturday after Saturday to play the BEST. Somehow, losing to Okie Lite before going to Iowa State or Kansas or whoever just isn’t the same. So if you wanna go Aggie trolling maybe stick to a board with Big12 apologists.

2. Your faux SEC Championship ring is about to cause some serious problems in that hellhole (Austin). Sip fans in Walmart’s across America are gonna expect a LOT this fall. The problem is that (y’all know this 100% - whether you can admit it or not) you don’t have a returning roster that scares ANYBODY. Mediocre OL is about to get worse with no help in sight. Lil’John or Lil’James won a couple games by himself (I hate the dude cuz he played at UT but I respect the hell outta his skills/heart). The DL will go from a D to an F. TH seemed like instead of recruiting positions of need in the trenches to just say “frick it - I can’t recruit my own state anymore- let’s spend our time and energy getting positionless players out West. If they’re wildly overrated we can at least get some 247 pts.” Last but certainly not least Ehlinger is a Jeckyl/Hyde kinda QB. He can come out on fire one week and shart himself the next. When your Walmart fanbase’s expectations meet your actual abilities there’s gonna be a shite show on the 40 acres. I see 7.5 wins and a pink slip for Orlando by November, but hey - at least y’all don’t have to tangle with Maryland anymore.

THAT is absurd. About Evans I mean. The kid should have a mailing address in CS. He’s made so many unofficial visits I wouldn’t be surprised if he and Demond haven’t talked a LOT about the Ags offense next year and beyond.

I’m no fan of 247 but when he holds 50% of the CB’s I’m not too worried about the other USC. Helton will be lucky to have a job by Thanksgiving for presiding over that dumpster fire. As far as UT. Not much to worry about for the obvious reasons- TH’s YPC was abysmal in ‘18 and they’re losing guys without decent replacements. In the Big 12 backs are lucky to get a dozen touches and half of them are on tunnel screens.
