I live in LA so other than the UL ppl saying Napier is ours, not much else is going around. So have you guys in FL heard of any other coaches names being interviewed?

I guess a few days with no new news has me getting the Chip Kelly vibes all over again

I’m hearing Napier has offer and mulling. I hear he is requesting budgets for assistants and recruiting but negotiations in “red zone”. Also hearing he interested in LSU but LSU has eyes on a bigger fish. I think we know something by Sunday.

I don’t mind the hire, but I’m in on kiffin although SS doesn’t see him a candidate, despite some boosters wanting lane. B Stoops has taken name out the running. Not sure who UF’s second option is, hearing Cristobal (I think he holding for UM) and Campbell name but I think if Napier falls through we looking at a McElwain type hire. We’ll see, exciting times until you actually make the hire. I’m not sure whats with the stoops love, I get the ties but seems over the hill

Everyone wants to be Bama, until its time to do Bama shite. If this is the roadblock then our School is not serious about winning CFB.

Me neither, safest one out there imo.

Ill take him if BN falls through but it wont be long term.

Yep, some noname guy noone has talked about.
I hear Dan Mullen is available

Dont want Stoops or Campbell, if thats the case we shouldve just kept DM. Same results

Fk it, Call the Pirate.

Don't want Stoops or Campbell either. Hopefully it leaks out before Saturday. I think its Napier hearing everything unless he jumped to LSU at the last second or something crazy like that. LSU fans now seem to think he isn't one of the main targets there.

I would have like to have NAPIER as HC but if he wants LSWHO Frick him go elsewhere and when lsu does not hire him he can stay in Lafayette forever as far as I care.

I want someone who want to be at Florida if NAPIER does not want to be here then trust me there is a coach that does truly want to be in Gainesville

How do you knw he hasnt signed and is just finishing the season?? He's following our recruits/players and our recruiting coordinator on twitter.

Word is Saban wanted to go back to LSU who told him to kick rocks before he went to Bama.

Worked out pretty well for them. Im just saying dont be so sensitive about a guy possibly wanting to stay in the state hes already established in.
We dont have many alumn coaches to say we got us a Gator HC 100%

Your right D we do not know maybe he has agreed in terms.

But all I'm saying is that if he is telling us to hold on for him to see what lsu does then I don't want him or anyone else.

That doesn't think florida is just as great a job if not better then lsu.

I am not a Matt Campbell fan don't want him. Kiffin will be in South Beach next year and we need someone that can and will recruit the top player out of Florida. Sure getting top players from other states is fine but unlike the last coach we need some one that can recruit the state of Florida and start getting the top player her as well.

Stoops helped SOS get over the hump by assembling a championship caliber defense.

He can run a program. He is a known quantity. And a good one at that.

I think we got Napier. Just waiting for it to be made official.

We'll know soon.

All the Redditors seem to think it’s Napier. Some believe the hold up is what has already been mentioned- certain guarantees. Others believe it’s because he has a championship to play for and wants to see it through. I’m hoping it’s a combination of both. I respect a man with a vision and a man who likes to finish what he started.

On the hire itself - I feel like we’ve been here before with a young up and comer who is an ace recruiter in Muschamp. Kiffin gets me excited, this hire not so much. I hope I am pleasantly surprised and can come back and eat crow. Whoever it is, I wish them nothing but success.

I'm on the Lane train as well. I'm fine with Napier but would prefer to grab someone with p5 head coaching experience (who can also recruit well).

If those are the two choices, I'd rather have Napier. We've already had a OC who can't recruit.

Kiffin has one of the top 3 teams in the conference and is not taking advantage of this in recruiting like you would hope.

I could definitely get behind Lane but it's hard to ignore the success he's had on the field hasn't translated to better recruiting.

It’s been a few days since I saw some type of coaching hire odds. It was shortly after that someone posted that the Florida odds had been pulled off the board. Meaning that for some reason Florida had their guy or whatever I can’t find it now tho.

I think Lane will finish around 15 here or better. He was in the 30s this time last year, apparently, and finished with the #17 class.

Additionally, Ole Miss' AD has secured a $400 million renovation of everything here starting after next season. They are redoing the player complex, demolishing and and rebuilding the west stands, and a bunch of other stuff. Rumor is the starting offer extended to Lane this week was $8 million a year, and the OC is getting $2 million.

Basically, Keith Carter has told the money around here to stop talking about how Ole Miss has as much money as other programs and actually show they do. I heard another rumor that he has been told if Lane leaves that to make sure it isn't just down to money.

Interesting times around here for sure.

Remember that Oxford isnt Gainesville and there ia a lot more $$$$ here than in Missispui and more media/TV exposure here.

I wanted Kiffin before we hired Mullen.

How much money there is only matters in as much as people are willing to spend it. Don't look now, but Ole Miss is spending more than twice as much as UF on the recent round of renovations.

Would be nice if recruiting was fun year round again. Boosting the class up at the end we've seen that already no thanks.

13th in the SEC only better then Vandy at 10-2? I dont even care what you do at the end if you suck this bad the whole year.

Calls back to Mullen we'll worry about recruiting after the season. Of course they will move up i know that i mean they have to right.
