What is the best overall athletic conference in your opinion?

I know the Pac 12 is pretty solid in a variety of sports all year long and the Big 10 has alot of smaller sports that they excel in like hockey and wrestling.
Most other conferences do well in basketball, but I think the SEC has a ways to go in that regard.
SEC football and baseball are awesome.
Just wondering how we stack up compared to other conferences.
I think we should have a national trophy for the "overall best athletic conference" every year.
It would be interesting to see how the SEC's weaknesses like no men's soccer, wresting and lacrosse would play in compared to our strengths like gymnastics, softball and even something like equestrian (I know, but if Stanford can have a Fencing, water polo, and Sailing team count, then we can count equestrian, lol).
Wish the SEC would add a couple more men's sports too. We are a pretty rich conference, so I don't see why not.

Of course there are the weak links as there are in every conference. (The new teams, ole miss)

Maybe a top 3 list would put things in perspective, but I honestly haven't had much time this year to keep track of teams outside of the SEC. It used to be a hobby of mine (sports in general), but life and work has got in the way...growing up sucks.

I would probably say the WAC.

I will surely burn for saying this... but the PAC 12 is probably the best across all sports. In football, SEC. In basketball, ACC. In everything under the sun PAC 12.
This, mind you, is not a good thing. TV contracts are driven by football followed closely by basketball.
So, on the West coast the PAC 12 is king in all sports. In the rest of country the SEC in football, the ACC in basketball, the Big Ten in all of the above but one step down are what people watch.

SWAC and it's not even remotely close

Take a look at the baseball, softball and gymnastics rankings and rethink that point.
However, the Pac 12 schools seem to win the directors cup simply because they play more sports IMO.

PAC12 easy if you're talking all sports. No other conference has schools that support the sheer quantity of sports as do those in the PAC12.
If you tilt it toward "important" sports than the SEC easily. Football is no question, baseball has LSU, Vandy, SC, and while basketball here does general suck we do have Kentucky carrying us.

Pac 12 usually dominates the Spring Sports.

SEC took 5 of the top 8 spots in my sport, 6 of the top 10. That's pretty aight.

Sec basketball sucks so bad that I just can't vote for them as the best. It's only one sport but it's ridiculous. I would say big ten and PAC 12. If the big ten starts trending upward in football, they probably are the best. Even though baseball is weak

SEC hands down. Look at the national titles. Its not just football. Its football, basketball, baseball, softball, women's basketball, track, gymnastics, etc etc.

PAC, but they were playing a lot of the lower tier sports long before other conferences. UCLA alone has over 100 NCs. Does anyone outside of the PAC have water polo?

Capital One Cup
This would be a good place to start
Alabama is the only SEC team in the top-10 on the men's side.
