re: Predict Alabama's record

Losses to LSU, FLORIDA, AUBURN and either OLE MISS or MISSISSIPPI STATE.

8 - 4

unproven oline and quarterback this year. The spread offenses are going to hurt us. We just are not built for the hurry up. Hate to say it, but Saban has been exposed and Oklahoma has blue print. Saban has to develop new defensive strategy.
Damn good football player! Of all the Alabama offensive linemen that started multiple games, Lindsay is the only one that did not give up a sack all season.
for fifth year of football. Lindsay was clearly the best center this past year. I hate to see this kid leave the program. I think Lindsay graduated last summer and was in the masters program. We are really short at center as I have not been impressed with Ryan Kelly.

I really only pay attention to the oline. Here's my guess:

LT - Shepherd
LG - Grant Hill
C - Lindsay
RG - Arie
RT - Kelly

Arie needs to be moved back to RG as he is not a pulling guard and we need a pulling guard.
Move Shepherd over to LT
Lindsay by far a better center than Kelly, offense performed better with Lindsay
Kelly a very good athlete with really good feet just plays with too high pad level to be a center. Just not a mauler but will probably make a damn fine tackle.
Robinson and Jackson will play backup tackles this year and starters next year.
Leon Brown is a bust.
For those that didn't notice in the sugar bowl, our offensive line was horrible. They gave up six sacks. Arie and Kelly were getting thrown around like rag dolls. Leon had no business at RG. Cyrus was man handled by a 220 lb linebacker. Shepherd was the only bright spot. I heard the reason Lindsay didn't play was he injured his knee, MCL, in Auburn game. Am I the only one that noticed that the oline just played better with Lindsay at center? If this problem isn't resolved this spring we aren't going to win anything next fall.
Sunseri and White declared for NFL yesterday. Dee Hart is transferring and a freshman also quit yesterday too.

Dillon Lee will not start over Anderson.
Truth, you really don't have a clue.
Arie will return, Cyrus will leave.
Lindsay and Fowler have both started several games this year.
you are a troll!
Rumors are also mentioning Ivory, Sunseri, as well as, many juniors who did not play much if any this past year. Saban may also be weeding those out that did not play much.
Any guesses on who will and who will not return at Alabama in 2014? Which Juniors will opt for the NFL and which fourth year juniors will not return for their fifth year?
MSU is a very cyclical football team. I believe 18 starters return in 2014 and this will be the year that MSU competes for the SEC West Division title. Being an Alabama alumni, I always root for the Tide, but feel we may have a down year in 2014. Had Prescott been healthy when we played them, we would have lost that game. We got our butts kicked this year against MSU and were lucky to win the game. I predict 9-3 or 10-2!

re: Anthony Steen injured?

Posted by BigAl59 on 12/16/13 at 6:40 am
If Steen is injured and out for sugar bowl, I would move Kelly or Lindsay over to RG. Williams plays much better coming off bench and Hill has not worked at RG. Stoops will load up on either Hill or Williams if we put them in there
I think you are very wrong in your statement regarding that it's NOT impressive that these kids graduate in 3.5 years. How many kids graduate in 3.5 years that have a full time job plus going to school? Show some respect!

I don't think Kelly could have survived the Auburn nose tackle. No strong or heavy enough! Kelly was only effective when no one was playing nose tackle head up on him. Kelly had pretty good games against Tenn, Mississippi State and LSU. Kelly was man handled by VT, CSU and Ole Miss where he had a NT on him. Lindsay went against Ole Miss, Kentucky, Arkansas and Auburn and played well against NT.

Got to move Kelly to either a guard or tackle. Kelly too injury prone to play center. ACL in high school, two high ankle sprains and two sprained knees in college at bama. Not built for center.

Bama's 2014 Offensive Line

Who will be starters on next year's oline and who do you predict leaves early for NFL draft.

LT - Dominick Jackson
LG - Austin Shepherd or Ryan Kelly
C - Chad Lindsay
RG - Grant Hill
RT - Ryan Kelly or Austin Shepherd

I predict Cyrus and Arie opt for Draft. Shepherd and Arie both graduated in August and both could leave but I think Shepherd comes back and Arie enters draft with his brother.
Relax, Lindsay will start at Center and we will march down the field pounding Auburn on each possession. Every game Lindsay has played, Nussmeier pounds the ball successfully and tomorrow will be no different.

You can't keep Lindsay on the bench next year as backup center. Too good of a player to sit on the bench.

I predict both Arie and Cyrus are gone to NFL after this year. We also lose Steen and Kellen Williams. That will leave us with Shepherd, Kelly and Lindsay who have all started games and performed well. This scenario comes to mind:

LT - Robinson (Rookie) - Freshman
LG - Lindsay (Veteran - 3 starts) - Senior
C - Ryan Kelly (Veteran - 11 starts) - Junior
RG - Grant Hill (Rookie) - Sophomore
RT - Shepherd (Veteran - 14 starts) - Senior

Need Lindsay at LG where he can work with Robinson on blocking assignments and Hill is between Kelly and Shepherd so they can work with Hill on blocking assignments. Also, you could easily flip Kelly and Lindsay if needed. Both have played LG and Center

If lsu wants to beat bama, lsu puts Johnson on bama's center, Kelly, and power drives him back each play. Watch the VT, Colorado State and Ole Miss games and you will see that when Kelly gets blown up our oline goes to shite.
