We were worried about replacing Barret Jones.... Hell, apparently Alabama has two guys capable of the task.

True. Whole O blocked really well last night. Love the way everyone stays with their blocks.

Steen did a lot for his draft stock. He was great.

Good news about our line next year?

LT - Gone in all likelihood, but we replace him with the number one recruit in the nation.

LG - Likely staying, has gotten better with every game.

C - TWO guys who have proven themselves coming back

RG - Gone, gonna be a battle for his spot...

RT - TWO guys who have proven themselves a bit this year will be back, I could see us going with the "Best " mentality and sliding Shep inside to RG and playing Hill at RT. Maybe the opposite, maybe Alphonse Taylor or someone else wins the RG job.

What about Robinson? Does he have what it takes to come in and contribute as a TF?

I mentioned C-Rob at LT when I said we replace CyKo with the #1 recruit.

another thought...our RT moves to LT and HIll takes over at RT. Lindsey as the back up center takes over at RG. I think there may be a small chance that the LT stays another year to play 2 years running next to big bro. I realize that is a small chance but that is my Christmas wish.

That would take our 7 best OL from this year and plug them into positions next year. The chemistry is already there.

No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No.

Austin Sheperd at LT?

I'll throw my computer out the window the second I see it in a practice report.

I get that much, but chemistry can only go so far. Shep has gotten better at RT, he isn't a LT though. Especially with a new QB, we don't wanna take any risks with his blindside.

I predict both Arie and Cyrus are gone to NFL after this year. We also lose Steen and Kellen Williams. That will leave us with Shepherd, Kelly and Lindsay who have all started games and performed well. This scenario comes to mind:

LT - Robinson (Rookie) - Freshman
LG - Lindsay (Veteran - 3 starts) - Senior
C - Ryan Kelly (Veteran - 11 starts) - Junior
RG - Grant Hill (Rookie) - Sophomore
RT - Shepherd (Veteran - 14 starts) - Senior

Need Lindsay at LG where he can work with Robinson on blocking assignments and Hill is between Kelly and Shepherd so they can work with Hill on blocking assignments. Also, you could easily flip Kelly and Lindsay if needed. Both have played LG and Center

You can't keep Lindsay on the bench next year as backup center. Too good of a player to sit on the bench.

I really don't see Arie leaving after this season.

Me either. He could do a LOT for his stock to stay another year and prove he can be healthy, plus he'd be a leader on the line next year.
