Texas A&M wide receiver Speedy Noil will be suspended for the Aggies 2016 season opener against UCLA after he was arrested last Friday for driving without an license.

Aggies head coach Kevin Sumlin announced the news on Thursday. Per The Chron.com:
quote:

"It's a two-step forward, one-step back deal with him," Sumlin said Thursday. "The consistency part has been an issue. This semester he had been moving forward. Just like in life, it takes one hiccup or miscue or wrongdoing to throw all of that off."

A state trooper pulled over Noil because of a brake light that was out. Noil was released after posting $600 bail and spending nearly an hour in jail. He played in nine of A&M's 13 games last season, with two of those misses because of suspension for undisclosed violations of team rules, including the Aggies' Music City Bowl loss to Louisville in Nashville, Tenn.

You get arrested for driving w/o a license? Does he not have a license or just didn't have it on him?

Soft tissue injury per Aggies. Yeah, the soft tissue between the ears.

Pretty sure he was suspended for the first game in Nov/Dec. It was known before the bowl game he was banned for 2 games (the upcoming Bowl game and the first game of the next season).

This guy is never gonna make it through 4 years. Sad considering his talent.

If I'm on the school newspaper and I get arrested on the weekend for expired parking tickets, suspended license etc.--do get kicked off newspaper? No! This is ridiculous.
