Texas A&M QB Nick Starkel Is Transferring

Texas A&M quarterback Nick Starkel announced Tuesday night on Twitter that he will transfer to another program as a graduate transfer.

Starkel will graduate from Texas A&M this spring and will have two years of eligibility at another program.

This past season, Starkel played in only four games behind Mond, completing 15 of 22 passes for 169 yards with one touchdown. Mond threw for 3,107 with 24 touchdowns under first-year coach Jimbo Fisher.

During practices before the Aggies' 52-13 victory over NC State in the Dec. 31 TaxSlayer Gator Bowl, Fisher said he expected Starkel to return to Texas A&M this spring.

"We've had a few [conversations], and I anticipate him being back at spring practice," Fisher said.

Good for him. This graduate transfer option with 2yrs potential is really beneficial for the QB position over any other. As it's harder for a qb to get playing time. Gives them an ability to mature, and then find a program to play at. Will be better for the NFL too. QB position needs/benefits from maturity/tenure more than any other position in the game.
