Texas A&M's QB Conner Weigman returned to his starting spot last week vs. Missouri after missing the previous three weeks with an injury.

While he was out, freshman Marcel Reed started and looked good in three wins vs. Florida, Bowling Green, and Arkansas.

On Monday, Aggies head coach Mike Elko revealed how Reed handled being sent back to the bench in favor of Weigman. Per On3:

“Like a competitor, you know,” Elko said of how Reed took their decision at quarterback. “I think he’s a great kid. He wants to be our starting quarterback. He has wanted to be our starting quarterback since the day he stepped on campus. That’s what makes him great.”

“But he also wants to win. He wants to be a great Aggie. He wants to be a great teammate,” said Elko.
