In a live chat on ESPN.com on Wednesday Mel Kiper decided to make Alabama fans lose their shite. Here's how it went down. This question was asked to Kiper...
quote:

"Is it a forgone conclusion that Alabama wins another National Championship? They seem to be in a class of their own?"
His answer...
quote:

"I disagree. I think there’s an overreaction to Alabama right now. They beat a depleted Michigan team and depleted Arkansas team. Alabama has not been tested yet, even though people want to act like these were statement games. At Missouri won’t be easy. At LSU. At Tennessee. Those aren’t easy games. I think Alabama is a little overrated. I hate to say that, because Nick Saban is one of the best coaches out there."

Hey Mel Kiper obviously don't know the SEC because Missouri & Tenn State @ Knoxville are Bama easy wins. Tough games will be MSU who will be 7-0 just like Bama then @ LSU two weeks later & Texas A&M after that. Tennessee still trying livd off great Fulmer years. Tenn hasn't been competitive since 1999.

They said the same thing about LSU a few years back. It is clickbait is all that it is. Alabama has NOT been tested, although they have handled these easy games well, that doesn't mean jack when you get into the meat of an SEC schedule, especially a west one.

it is absurd what ESPN and the masses are saying because it's all they hear about.. but i've seen several say how they should just give it to bama now.. it's complete BS! mega props to Kiper!

I do think BAMA is the best, most complete team in the country. But yes, the media saying they are on a different planet than all the other teams is a bit absurd.

Props to Mel for saying it.

The media bought into the Michigan hype. They are currently a one man team with DR. Teams like LSU and Alabama feast on teams who have one player to stop. The following game, Air Force was close to knocking off this Michigan team. Michigan gets to face perennially overhyped Notre Dame this weekend. Talk about emotional swings: Michigan will be 2-2 after this weekend, but Notre Dame will be 4-0 and you'll hear nothing but reacharounds from the talking heads about ND being back.

Arkansas was giving up 30+ppg entering the Alabama game last week after playing juggernauts Jacksonville State and ULM. The also had the benefit of playing a Wilson-less led Arkansas offense. How many points were scored in the 2nd half vs ULM in Week 2 with the backup Arkansas QBs? 10, and 3 of those came in OT.

Alabama won't face their first test until Nov 3. Missouri? Tennessee? Mississippi State? Crowning them the best team on the planet is a little to premature. Ask USC, they will agree with me.

they are overrated, for sure, people think they’re invincible and they’re not, yet, they will win the national championship, again.

I guess Alabama is to blame for a "depleted" Michigan team and also for the "depleted" Arkansas team they had to play???? Before the season started we heard how great the future Heisman winner "shoelace" was and what kind of speed he had and what about that "depleted" Alabama defense he was going to run all over? Dont crown Alabama champ just yet but they aint chopped liver either.

Not going to say they are overrated, but I do agree that they haven't been tested. Michigan and Arky aren't good. With that said, they are a great team and they will have a great year. Hopefully LSU can beat them in BR, and not have to beat them again in the NC.

At Last! There is finally someone in the media that that thinks that NO ONE has yet to show that they are head and shoulders above the rest based only on three weeks of playing vastly inferior teams. Bama fans act like they have 3 huge games under their belt, but mighty ULM beat Arkansas, and Michigan was WAY overrated. Thanks, Kiper, but you better be stickin and movin

Not a big Kiper fan here but hat's off to him...something no one in the media seems to have the guts to say. Alabama deserves their props but jeez don't crown 'em already, c'mon man!!!
