With Cam Newton in town finishing up his degree at Auburn, one young lady took the opportunity Valentine’s Day presented to serenade the War Eagle icon. Auburn student Rachel Gilmore decided today was the day to go for the gusto, delivering Newton a $10 Singing Valentine’s from the Wesley Foundation and asking the star NFL player to be her date for the Carnation Formal.

According to The War Eagle Reader, Newton enjoyed every second of the serenade. Auburn freshman Avery Ginn, who played a shorter version of My Girl (using the words My Guy instead), said that Newton “was a little stunned but he got really into it.”

Reminds me of Waynes World when they did the corporate sponsor bit. I wonder how much Under Armour is paying him to wear that to class.
