On ESPN's Always College Football, broadcaster Todd Blackledge told Greg McElroy that the Big Ten and SEC are "at a different level" than everyone else in terms of influence and financial resources and are actually not at direct odds with one another...

"I don’t know if I see it as a rivalry," Blackledge said, via Saturday Down South. "I think there’s mutual respect. [Commissioners] Greg Sankey and Tony Petitti are both really smart guys who have made some really shrewd decisions."
"I think they both realize, we together have a good thing going," Blackledge added. "And it may appear like a rivalry, but I think they see they [can] help each other as well. I think the fact that they are kind of moving in lockstep ahead of the pack, I think they benefit from each other."
