AL.com is reporting that Alabama defensive linemen Brandon Ivory and Jarran Reed and linebacker Tim Williams have all been suspended for violation of team rules. Coach Nick Saban announced the news after practice on Friday.

None of the players were present at Friday's morning practice, which primarily featured veterans. Saban said they can work themselves back onto the team but did not provide a timetable.

"Our focus is here, we have a lot of good players, a lot of good people, in our program, a lot of guys that really do a lot of good things on and off the field," Saban said. "We're certainly focused on those guys that we have here to develop them to be the best players that they can be, because they've demonstrated they're willing to do the things they need to do and football is important enough to them to do the things they need to do to have a chance to be successful."

So Saban stole "the best player in Louisiana", Tim Williams away from Miles. Then he had to suspend him. Maybe Les is crazy like a fox.

Suspension: college football's version of "giving them a timeout."
