SEC Football Coach Says Kentucky's Mark Stoops Has 'The Best F**king Deal In The Country'

With the Kentucky Wildcats having a couple buzz-worthy seasons on the FOOTBALL FIELD the last few years, an SEC football coach declared their head coach Mark Stoops has 'The best f**king deal in the country'...

“Have you ever seen Mark’s contract? Mark has the best fricking deal in the country.”

An SEC assistant told me this when I asked about Stoops petering out on FSU, a job most of us would assume to be on par with Oklahoma, the program that made his brother Bob famous — and a national champion.

Now, Stoops’ contract is very nice (his base salary increases annually; currently he’s due $4.6 million in 2020) but the assistant was specifically referring to this: Every time Kentucky wins seven games in the regular season, Stoops’ contract is automatically extended by one year.

Kentucky is rising and the SEC East will not see it coming when it happens because they are caught in a caste system that never seems to play out as they expect. And I'm not a KY fan.

You can't argue with what he has done. He's done what was needed at a football school like Kentucky. Slowly, methodically build up recruiting, and it has worked. If they play this year, and Wilson is healthy, expect 10 wins again.

"at a football school like Kentucky."? really? when did the UK become a "football school"? that's news don't you think? i haven't seen any reports of sports media declaring this major event. is UK still considered a basketball school?

it is a heck of a deal for Stoops. Most places in the SEC winning seven games gets you on the hot seat. For us, winning seven is an extension. Of course given what Stoops inherited he has done a great job.
