by TD Staff ReporterJuly 21, 2021

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports
Brent Zwerneman with the Houston Chronicle has reported that Texas and Oklahoma have reached out to the SEC about possibly joining the conference and leaving the Big 12.
quote:SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey had this comment once the story broke:
Texas and Oklahoma of the Big 12 have both reached out to the Southeastern Conference about potentially joining the powerful league, a high-ranking college official with knowledge of the situation told the Houston Chronicle on Wednesday.
An announcement could come within a couple of weeks concerning the potential addition of UT and OU to the league, the person said, which would give the SEC 16 schools and make it the first of a national super-conference.

The SEC broke Texas and OU in football and baseball. If they joined, it would be the equivalent of another couple of Arkys or Ole Misses (lol).

Agree. I think UNC & VaTech or Virginia would give the SEC more of everything there looking for as far as Geographic footprint & TV Viewership. Plus Fuk Texas let em dry out on their little island all alone, Oh except for ALL of those Longhorn Net subscribers, they can ALL watch it happen. All 10-12 of them at the same time.
