Paul Finebaum Says He’s Not Giving Up On This SEC Hot Seat Coach
© Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports
While appearing on McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning, ESPN's Paul Finebaum said that although Auburn head coach Bryan Harsin might be on the hot seat heading into his second year after a rough offseason, he's not giving up on him yet...

“I don’t think it necessarily predicts the future, because a football team rallies around its coach,” Finebaum said, via 247Sports. “If they didn’t rally around him, then I’m not sure there’d be any reason for Bryan Harsin to continue, based on what we saw last, the end of last season, and in the aftermath. But I think we’re way too far away, until we get the quarterback situation established. And then we basically see what this new staff looks like and whether this is truly the restart. It looks like the restart.

“Now, the question I have is — if the record doesn’t improve dramatically, are the powers that be, who were ready to pull the trigger in January, are they going to say, ‘OK, let’s give this guy a couple more years.’ And based on what I saw in January, I don’t think that’s a true statement… If that schedule, the first six games don’t go very well for Auburn all of this excitement in April will be for naught.”
