The checkerboard was used by just about everyone as soon as they invented field paint.

I like this field.

Kentucky actually used the checkboard back in 1930 at Stoll Field prior to building Commonwealth. Tennesee has been using checkboards only since 1964. :)

Logo isn't new, just "enhanced." The old logo had some difficult edges.
