Robert Bala, who spent last season as a defensive assistant under Hugh Freeze, accepted the inside linebackers coaching position at Alabama last week. When Freeze, who is now the head coach at Auburn, was asked about that, he revealed an interesting story that involves Nick Saban...
quote:

“Obviously Nick and I are friends, and I know it’s hard for a lot of people to believe,” Freeze said (first transcribed by Saturday Down South). “When Nick called me, I just said, ‘I think he’s (Bala) really, really good and you ought to interview him.’ Evidently, he did. I haven’t talked to Nick since he interviewed him. But evidently, he did well.”
