The initial College Football Playoff Rankings came out on Tuesday night with three teams from the SEC landing in the Top 6.

1. Ohio State 8-0
2. LSU 8-0
3. Alabama 8-0
4. Penn State 8-0
5. Clemson 9-0
6. Georgia 7-1

Following the CFP reveal show, ESPN sent out the following tweet about how no team ranked No. 3 in the initial rankings have made it to the playoff.


Those teams that missed the playoff include:

2014 - Auburn
2015 - Ohio State
2016 - Michigan
2017 - Notre Dame
2018 - LSU

We'll see if the trend continues or if Alabama will make it to the big dance at the end of the season.

You're trying too hard agaun Leo. A trend for something that's only been around for 6 years doesn't hold much water. However Alabama's broken decades old records the last 10 years, a 6 year old one isn't a big deal.
