College sports feels like it's changing fast...
quote:

The tournament operator is guaranteeing that sponsors and other tournament partners will offer each school a total of $1 million in NIL money for participating. That money will be funneled to collectives, boosters, or other NIL entities, and the coaches and teams will be able to distribute that money however they see fit, as long as the money goes to current players. The winning team will be eligible to earn another $1 million, to be distributed in the same way.

I wonder how that goes over with the athletic department as far as expenses. How are things handled now when a school goes to Maui or Atlantis? Are they given an appearance fee to cover expenses?

I'm sure this is exactly what college sports needs now, since NIL has made such a positive impact to all those involved! NOT!

What could possibly go wrong?

college sports is now just a version of pro ball (with even more ability to change teams annually, which is terrible for the game). I'm quickly losing interest.

If this isn't "pay for play", what would be?

Has this been dropped by the NCAA rules books?

CAPITALISM. You either want all of it, or none of it. You knew sooner or later it would creep into college sports. The sport makes way too much money to not be affected. When a country, and its people, care first and foremost about the almighty dollar, over even people's lives, this how things go.

Damn I wonder why they didn’t want to invite the MM tigers ? He supposed to steadily improve according to some rant members . We should finish In the top half of the sec next year and finally make the NIT .

As long as the tournament doesn’t interfere with classes, I’m okay with it.
