Yeah that was a brutal loss. One strike away from a national seed several times in the 9th but Sheffield couldn't get anything over but his fastball so everyone was sitting on it.
The loss of Stone and the ineffectiveness of Ferguson cannot be overstated. We are short 2 pitchers in the pen because of it. Not many teams overcome that. No shutdown arm in the pen is going to result in games like this and the ole miss game.

With Florida, DBU, and TCU losing, a win against A&M today could put us very close to a national seed. If DBU drops another game in the MVC tournament and we keep winning, it's a strong possibility.

I think we got pretty lucky on regional. I was worried we would have a Virgina 2 seed and a Texas 4 seed. Lipscomb gets to celebrate making the tournament...by driving down the street. Hopefully, we hit better against them than we did last time. Radford is a 15 in the RPI, but that's because of their scheduling additional away games a la MSU and DBU. Their OOC RPI was 55. Not to say they aren't a good team, but we definitely could have had a more difficult selection. And Indiana shows up to Nashville a year late. They could be a dark horse. They've underperformed this year, but they could get hot for the tourney.
