James Franklin: Most Discussed HC in Vandy History?

I'm just a college kid, so I'm not that old. I could be wrong, but when (or has) any Vanderbilt head coach ever received this much attention for other jobs? I know Gerry DiNardo went to LSU, but he never was heralded as someone who could win a national championship at a "bigger program" that I remember. So am I just too young to remember or have been alive for it or is this a first for Vandy?

You'd have to go all the way back to Steve Sloan to find this kind of interest, if then.

I don't think even Sloan was talked about nationally at this level of attention. I always find it funny that Texas Tech hired away the coach that beat them in the bowl game.

I know Sloan was talked about in Texas quite a bit back then I don't know about nationally.
I hope Franklin stays he's good for y'all and a great coach.

And it seems like he wants to stay at Vandy. He can seriously build that place into a Stanford in the South.
