No Georgia defensive lineman has been drafted since DeAngelo Tyson was taken in the 7th round in 2012.

Edit: I was wrong. John Jenkins in 2013 (3rd rd). Going off memory there. Thank you Boss Bailey 345 for pointing it out, but my point still stands.

That is unreal.

I imagine Jordan Davis will be the one to break that streak

How many in that same period were drafted out of AU that went to HS in GA?

Is this Rodney Garner's fault?

Overall, not a lot of hand-on-the-ground defensive linemen have been drafted in the last 10 years. Assuming most NFL teams are in a 3-4 alignment, 13% of the rosters are defensive linemen. But much fewer than 13% of draft picks are defensive linemen, if my memory serves me correctly.

NFL loves DE's and OLB's but they really don't give a shite about hand in the dirt DL's lately.

I counted 5 from Georgia who got drafted out of Auburn dating back to '12.

Plus we had a flop like Trenton Thompson.

Our recruiting on the DL has been pretty bad in the past 10 years. We finally now have a line that can dominate the LOS.

Correct. I don't want to be the jinx. But we have some names that we can throw out there on the DL for potential draft picks.

Yep, another reason why I feel our teams really haven't underachieved over the years. The truth is we just haven't had a complete team. The good news is we seem to be heading in the right direction with Kirby at the helm.

We barely have true “DTs” any more with Grantham, Pruitt, and Smart’s 3-4 schemes.

Not really that mind blowing.

Interior linemen are still a thing in football.

Obviously. Just not 4-3 DTs at UGA. Would be interesting to see how many 3-4 DEs from UGA got drafted.

None. That’s what I’m saying. Unless you’d count Cornelius Washington who technically moved to DE in 2012, but that’s still the same year as Jenkins.

No other down linemen have been drafted from Georgia since then. Only OLB/edge players.

That would be zero unless you wanna count OLB's as DE's
