Evans looks legit, it's a tough loss. The kid looks flexible and strong and also has great burst. He had to have done something pretty bad for Kirby to turn him away OR he just doesn't want to have another Pickens on the team. You can handle a few of those guys but once they build up it reaches a critical mass. I really wanted the #1 class but oh well.

Let's just hope this wasn't Kirby drawing some line in the sand to make a point. Watch the kid go someplace else, have no disciplinary issues, and rush for 1500 yards as a freshman.

Every interview of him I have seen, he came across well and was well spoken.

I'm more worried about it turning off future recruits and other team's coaches using it for negative recruiting.

We have a solid team, so I'm not worried about what Evans might do at A&M who stands no chance at much more than 4th in the West.

It may not have had anything to do with Kirby. Sometimes the school steps in and takes it out of the coach's hands.

UGA did Evans a huge solid by letting him out of the NLI with no restrictions. That says:

A) He wanted to come to Georgia, it wasn't his decision to pull the plug, it was UGA's; and

B) We did it with some class and professionalism.

Just a guess, but I'm thinking Georgia football told him if he wanted Georgia to send in the NLI and they would do what they could to get him in. Meanwhile, the institution did its due diligence and decided, for whatever reason, to tell the football program "no."

So Kirby did the right thing and released him with no restrictions.

Going to be tough to negative recruit against that, imo.

I like your perspective. I would like to think that's how it went down.

Or watch the kid go someplace else, have disciplinary issues, and rush for under 900 yards bc of game suspensions.

Remember, he was sent home from the State Championship game bc he got upset & angry with coaches over the team’s cell phone curfew policy. His teammates turned over their phones. He refused.

Too many red flags. He could be great. Or a bust. Hope he finds the right setting to help him wise up.

I was listening to the recruiting guys this morning on Sirius and they were pretty down on this kid. They pretty much said what Evans did should scare any "real" program away. This kid is trouble from the word go, has been his entire time in high school.

I don't know the kid and hope he does well but I wouldn't want him in my program

Yep, all the talent in the world is no help if the player is not on the field and we have certainly had more than our fair share of that scenario.
