Yesterday was just not our day and Mauger was the best example

Quincy Mauger is one of my favorite players on the team. The kid makes play after play. I knew we were in for a long day when he got hosed on the two biggest plays of the game. First the fake kick where there was blatant hold on him while trying to make the tackle. Then on their first big run, the ref gets in the way. Those two plays were all they needed to give them hope they could win. Florida didn't look like they had the fight in them until these plays.
Time for the Dawgs to step up and screw everyone!

That kind of behavior is generally frowned upon outside of Tallahassee

True, but apparently good things can happen when you do it...See Tallahassee

I thought after the Chubb touchdown that we were one score away from demoralizing them. If you noticed during the broadcast, Richt looked away in disgust after we missed the field goal. He knew Florida was on to something and wanted that 10 pt lead.

something that no one important will really have the balls to question is our 4th down decision making. early in the game we had three 4th and really short situations in good field position. on those 3 possessions we punted twice (shitty punts) and missed a long field goal in windy weather.
that's fricking inexcusable. statistically, we should have gone for it in all 3 of those situations. we really could have put the game in our hands early and gone up big. instead we gained about 25 yards of field position twice. not even close to worth it.

I was irate with all their 4th down decisions. Erickson was doing a horrid job punting, wind or no wind, so it wasn't like we were flipping field position. But we kept punting. Richt and his staffs apathetic outlook on the game absolutely trickled down to the rest of the team. They saw that Mizzou game and figured they could just putz along and let UF win it for them. Pitiful effort all around.

I didn't mind punting it because you don't want to give a terrible (or so we thought) offense any head start. What was terrible was not waiting until the second quarter to kick the field goal. That was flat out stupid.

On the topic of punting, why didn't we use Barber in the first half? Erickson wasn't getting anything on his punts.

Both sides of the punting and kickoff game are very bad. We need a punter with distance who is also able to pin teams deep. We need a punt returner who doesn't let the ball bounce and role for twenty-five yards. We need a kicker who can consistently drive unreturnable kickoffs.
Also, every dawg fan is disgusted that the team always get fooled by trick plays.

I think Barber is the punter for long punts and Erickson is the "accuracy" punter. Either way it didn't really matter or work yesterday.

Unless you like prop bets - then we're a dream team.

Erickson's the pooch punter and Barber's the regular punter.

Yes, but it seemed like we were using Erickson in situations that we always use Barber.

Even worse given that all week it seemed every article or analyst basically said "UF is gonna pull out all the stops, fake punts, fake FGs, onside kicks, anything they feel they need in this game"
They were a team struggling for a win and had a young kicker kicking with bad wind. How we didn't anticipate a fake FG is insane. We even said "they're about to pull a fake" before it where we were watching it

Then, after that next drive, muschamp realized no more fake plays were needed because we weren't gonna have a prayer of stopping them.

Didn't notice that. Probably had my hands covering my eyes.
