I would be labeled as this board as a doomdayer.
But the reality is that it will be 7 seasons since we won the SEC after this year. Every team with a winning record beats us this year and the past two. UGA is a upper middle tier program in the SEC and finishes and goes bowling to fit the ranking. I see no evidence to the contrary. There are plenty that wish it were not so. But that is pretty much the reality.
Oh, and watch out for Ole Miss, that coach has 'em playing pretty well, but maybe we can outtalent them.

Agree, Ole Miss is definitely the upset alert on our schedule.

Interesting, so far with 20 replies this is how it breaks down:
Disneys - 6
Realists - 9 (if you didn't specify, you were grouped in this category)
Doomsdayers - 5
Forming an interesting snapshot, don't ya think?

Realist. I've wanted a new coaching staff since 2008 but don't go into every game expecting to get donkeypunched.

For real. I'm getting there, though.

I've gotten to where I hope for the best but expect the worst, It ruins my Sat. but I'm ok by Mon...
I've come to realize that a Georgia team unprepared is the new normal for a Georgia team...
You just need to recalibrate your expectations. Losing happens. UGA just want's their fair share of it...

Pragmatist/Realist. The cold hard facts are that for all the tradition and great things associated with Athens as a town and UGA football winning the AP and now BCS national championship has never been our strong suit. After Dooley left after some down years we fell into mediocrity under Goff/Donnan. Richt got us out of that and into the upper echelon of the SEC where we have remained. We seem to have peaked but alot of that has to do with Alabama and Florida dominance and the fact that they are willing to spend alot more on recruiting (paying) players and facilities and coaches than we are. I still want Richt to be able to break through as I like him and think he is a good man (this is coming from an agnostic) but if we could get a Jim Harborough, Jon Gruden, Chris Peterson type I'm all in favor of moving on. If we can't, then things could get alot worse. Just look at Auburn or UT. USC loses this week and we can still win it all people. Thats my 2 cents with a cold IPA in my hand on this beautiful Friday evening.

Realist, that loves the Dawgs and have grown up watching them. One poster said he had been watching since the Wally Butts days, that's impressive. I know that we are stuck in the upper echelon in neutral and need a new coach but that is not the players fault. Richt does less with more but I can only dream of a top tier coach coming in and taking us to that next level. Hopefully soon, GO DAWGS!!!

I suppose if I have to label myself if would be negarealist. I hate to lose, and I simply cannot fathom Richt's lack of urgency or fire. In my world it is go big or go home. To me Richt appears to be sitting by the fire wearing a nice pair of slipper socks drinking hot cocoa.

I have to give credit where credit is due. I like this thread. I actually thought about starting one after we said our differences the other day. But I wouldn't have done quite the job of it. Yer still a frickin disney though.

Okay, like a few others, for me this issue is not black and white.
I think of myself ultimately as a realist, because I take a realistic look at how things are going. Simple as that.
Now on this site I tend to agree more with the Doomsday crowd's posts but that's because there is a lot more in the program to be upset about than there is to be proud of right now. Therefore, based on the current climate, the Disney's have less to talk good about, and are starting to slip into unreality.
Hopefully this will change.
I naturally have varying opinions about several different aspects of UGA football, based realistically on the current state of said subjects. IE - Our coaching in general fricking sucks right now. And I still think Gurshall is a two-headed Dawg beast.
That being said, I'm a guy who had the metal Georgia trash can and bean bag chair and the falcons keychains and a long running subscription to the Brave's Clubhouse magazine. My mom says when I was first learning to speak well I used to say "George the Bulldog", so I'm a frickin lifelong fan who is still wildly optimistic deep down.
And for when I'm around fans of other teams (work and in-laws mostly)I always, fricking always talk shite like a mad motherfricker!!! Goddamn right GO DAWGS!

Ok Dawgranters, (no matter what, we will always be dawgranters) here are the latest updates about who is who.
Disneys - 8 (Spanky, I included you in this group, cause try as you might, you are still Disney. Besides, no one who is in the know will ever forget your epic meltdown thread!
)
Realists - 17
Doomsdayers - 5
Well, I notice two things. One, not many on here want to be viewed as "Doomsday", and two, the majority WANT to believe desperately that the Dawgs will live up to their expectations and be the contender we all believe they can be year after year. In the end, regardless of designations, we are all Dawg fans, and no matter what, we love UGA!

Fire, the first time I think I've seen you say this. If I'm not mistaken, you and similar (I don't want to say of 'your ilk') said if anyone had reservations, we 'weren't Dawgs'. Maybe 'fairweather Dawgs'.
That is a load of horseshite. If we were fairweather at best, we certainly wouldn't be coming around. I understand the misery loves company BS, but I don't subscribe to it.
I've been doing this for years now, precisely because I was worried I was the only one who felt the way I do. My concerns corroborated, well, I'd like to see what the hell you think, you, as king of the Disney's, like it or not your title, as you've damned well earned it, is going to positively transpire for this program.
Seriously (as in no cheerleader BS).
