But really, Kirby, no rush being here to run the program or anything.

Mike Ekeler won't coach UGA bowl after accepting another job. John Lilly, Kevin Sherrer to call plays LINK

He's gone for a few weeks. We will be ok. I did like Ekeler but Smart is not keeping many from the old staff.

I would assume our OC AND DC will bring in their own staff correct?

I'm talking more about having enough bodies in the building to actually conduct bowl practices.

We now have only 2 coaches to run the defense.

The defensive GAs and analysts will coach the position groups.

Can the "analysts" do that? GAs can, of course, but the analysts aren't supposed to have any kind of coaching contact with the players

I think there is some gray area during a coaching change.

They can be "activated" so you have 9 coaches on the field

You guys do remember after WM got shitcanned we basically had an entire staff of GA's on that side of the ball for the bowl game? Nothing new.

Even if Kirby had cut ties to alabama, he wouldn't have anything to do with the bowl or who coaches in it, right?

This is stupid.

Pretty much, yeah. No way a coach comes in with 3 weeks until a bowl game and takes over the team's practices and whatnot. That being said I also don't believe I've ever seen an exodus of coaches before a bowl game quite like we have here.

Maybe Rico was smoking to ease the pain from Ekeler walloping him.
