Bennett ended up with the 4th highest QB rating in CFB. Caleb Williams was 5th. Bryce Young 7th.
Bennett was 3rd in yards per attempt, behind only Grayson McCall and C J Stroud.

That said, the first three quarters of the final and the last quarter of the final are night and day different. If it weren't for the defense we'd probably be down 17-13 instead of up 13-9 starting the fourth quarter. Can you blame anyone for thinking the game was moving too fast for him?

It was moving even faster for Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young.
Poor argument from you.

Fans are mad at Stetson for showing up and playing his arse off and taking the job from JT. Just like they were mad when Fromm took the job from Eason. They boo'd the QB on the field and cheered and called for Fields, after he quit UGA. The fans to be start demanding more from the guys not WINNING or KEEPING jobs instead of the ones who do everything to get on the field and stay there.

Opinions are fine. As fans we are allowed to have them. I draw a very big line at attacking players on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc. You're a special kind of loser if you resort to that crap.

Not on this forum. If you ever said anything negative about Stetson or the team in general you might as well delete your account. The Positive bros will see to it you are silenced.

I don't think so. He had several passes under pressure that his receivers dropped. At least two could have been touchdowns. One of them was right before Ringo's pick six. The receiver had a step on the corner and the ball bounced off his arm.

Don't get me wrong. I'm very happy for Stetson and what he was able to accomplish, but going into the fourth quarter he wasn't looking good.

He also had a lot of in accurate passes due to pressure and coverage. He threw 2 picks and one pick 6. He is still a great QB.

Absolutely. The pressure and coverage saved us and we wouldn't all be sitting here on cloud 9 if not for it. But, I have to disagree that the game was moving too fast for him. Metchie and Williams probably wouldn't have dropped those balls.

The drops for alabama were a false narrative, our guys knocked a bunch of balls out of bama wrs bread baskets.

I rewatched and only saw one bad drop and that happens even with the good ones.

Agreed, but Stet probably read the news and forums too much and even though he claimed it didn't bother him, you know it did. Same goes for his dad.

They should just be proud of what he and the team accomplished. No one can take the accomplishment away and dwelling on the negative isn't healthy.

I'm older and like a lot of that generation, we were taught that while everyone has a right to their opinion, you don't have to voice it, especially when it has the capacity to hurt someone else. Those days are long gone. If he leaves and we falter because of we, we justly deserve it.

I am older, and we were taught, "sticks and stones can break our bones, but words will never hurt me." That has definitely been forgotten in today's cancel culture.

never once heard him booed in a game. social media is what it is, he isn't the first college athlete and wont' be the last to endure criticism. you think DJ over at clemson had a fun year social media wise>?

the key is he overcame it, it's human for dad to lash back as well.

You guys should form some type of coalition to get the people who say things you don’t like removed from the forum.

Seems fans should learn to just support the team and coaches and that the guy who makes $6mill a year to coach football knows way more than we do.

Its ok to have an opinion but the hate towards Stetson became a cult.

Some of our "fans" still down voting. Amazing. We have people on this board that think the crap they were flinging at him was perfectly okay and logical.

Sometimes fans forget that they are human beings, too. They forget they have feelings. Nobody likes criticism.

I get some of it. We are all criticized at some point. But the crap we saw on this board (And I'm sure it was just as bad if not worse off the board) was way out of bounds. What some of our fans did to Aaron Murray, as well. It's ridiculous the entilement some of us have. We walk around thinking we can do and say whatever we want with no consequences at all.

You are right, SemperFiDawg.....some of us should be ashamed, and the rest of us should be embarrassed.

Good post!

However, we now live in the internet age. If you don't want to read it, then don't go looking for it. Like the poster said above if you are literally saying it to him face to face then you are a prick and you should get your attitude adjusted painfully. Also if you are going on a college kid's social media account and posting trash you are a prick.

Not just that....but when Aaron Murray was here we had some fans roll his yard with toilet paper after a loss.
Our fan base is embarrassing sometimes. It's a wonder the players don't walk away hating the school and it's fans.

That said, we also have some great fans, too.

Ok a few things about this:

First off, Stetson did a good job for UGA but he is not an elite qb. He has the heart of an elite qb, but not the talent. He will never take a snap on the NFL.

Secondly, this team was more then Stet. The defense carried the load for the most part and that played a massive part on us accomplishing what we did this year. The RBs and Tight ends and Online made his job even easier.

Thirdly, crying like this on social media is pathetic imo. It's just attention seeking and lane imo. It sours his son's legacy especially of he bolts.

I'm not sure what this was supposed to accomplish. Put our fanbase on notice? Insult the only people who make you playing football a reality?

The kid is soft and his dad is doing what a dad needs to do....but Stetson is a slightly above avg QB who benefited from playing with a team of 5 stars that elevated his play.

Even next year there should be a competition between stet and Stockton

I think the frustration was around Kirbys handling of the QB room. Unfortunately Stet was caught in the cross-fire. I don't think many rational people questioned his effort and love for UGA.

Kirby set Stet up for all the backlash, similar to Fromm his junior year

But also there’s a lot of people we should be proud of too

I speak specifically of those in the fanbase that never flinched for a second when the coaches made their decision. The pioneers who stood by Stet and took the arrows throughout every second of the adversity and across the finish line. The ones who saw the potential in this epic legendary saga that is now cemented into college football lore for eternity

Would be easy to list them by name since there were only a handfull. But my bet is they dont want any recognition. Because they’re probably like me, and just doing what their natural intincts tellthem to do.

Well done fellows. Its been a pleasure
