By we, do you mean UGA? We will certainly have Wilcox and Hancock go in the 1st round.
If by we, you mean the Braves...they pick 25 and I’m guessing Justin Foscue. Actually, he will probably be gone, so Loftin would be my next guess

Hancock in first half of 1st round, Wilcox in second half. Question is does Wilcox pass on a late first round pick to come back for his junior year and potentially move up into top 10 picks next year?

If wilcox slips "low" (whatever that may be) is there any chance at all he'd come back?

There’s definitely a good chance. Unlike most, he has 2 years left at UGA so he still has plenty of leverage if he chose to come back another year. He also happens to be a great student and loves Georgia and would relish the opportunity to be the Friday night ace, so there is definitely cause for him to come back if the pick or the money isn’t right this year. With how he looked this season, he could definitely be a top 10 pick next year.

First round money in MLB isn’t the same as NFL. Top 10-15, yeah you get gone. But after that, it depends on the guy and their leverage for the next year.

So where do we hope he falls, 20 or worse?

He’s probably going to fall to 20-30, most projections have him going to the Nats at 22. Question becomes what he decides to do with that. And teams know that he could opt to come back which is why he’s trending late in the first round; it’s a gamble for whoever takes him

I understand that tyler, but also, a pitcher will go through the farm system and make his way up. If he's good enough and avoids injury, returning for 1 year in college would be a lost opportunity to start showing a club his potential inside their organization with professional coaching

ETA: if he goes 22 to the Nats, thats $2M-$3M

I mean that’s what he has to balance. Money isn’t an object for his family so for him that might not be as big a concern. But the future development as you’ve mentioned vs the opportunity to move up in the draft next year is what he’s going to have to consider. I believe Washington drafted him out HS so it’s not like he’s unfamiliar with their staff and farm system, either, with regards to what he could be walking into. So just depends on if the Nats grab him at 22 and how he plans to respond if they do.

Wilcox still on the board through 23 picks. Braves coming up at 25. If he is still on the board over these next few then we may be getting an answer regarding his perceived signability

Dammit Braves.

Hard throwing lefties are nice too, but would have liked to see Cole go to the hometown team.

Was really pulling for him to the Braves, too. Didn’t expect him to slide this far which suggests teams don’t want to take a chance that he might stay at UGA. Because he is an excellent prospect otherwise

Braves seem to be going for an underslot play so they can take high school players with upside later

Mlodzinski out of Carolina just went ahead of Wilcox, Ginn, and Burns
