You think that because of the new ADSB technology that a pilot, from the cockpit, can type in any callsign that he chooses. Which is absolute fricking false. It's not possible.
AOPA
quote:
Appareo In the Appareo Stratus ESG transponder, press FUNC or the arrow keys until “Flight ID” appears. Press ENT, then use the number keys to overwrite the previously entered flight ID; the transponder’s pilots guide explains how to insert letters into the field. (If a new flight ID has fewer than eight digits and characters from the previous flight ID are still visible, overwrite them with spaces.) Press ENT to confirm the new flight ID.
quote:
BendixKing Pressing the FUNC button on the BendixKing KT 74 transponder provides access to the flight ID, said Jay Shears, senior manager of marketing and product management. Use the numeric buttons to edit; letters are selectable through multiple button pushes. Press ENT to accept a character and advance to the next digit. When ENT is pressed for the last digit, the new ID replaces the previous value. “Pressing the VFR button when in Flight ID Edit changes the flight ID to the preprogrammed ID set up during configuration of the transponder,” he said.
quote:
Garmin The installer can configure all Garmin’s panel-mount and remote-mount Mode S Extended Squitter transponders for the flight ID to be pilot editable, said Bill Stone, senior business development manager. “Since most pilots do not need dynamic flight ID, they are defaulted to broadcast a fixed fight ID, generally the aircraft’s registration number,” he said. Pilots can edit the flight ID through the front panel controls or, for remote transponders, a connected multifunction display.
My personal favorite totally debunking your continuing delusion:
AOPA
quote:
Many aircraft issues were caused by configuration errors—a transposition of digits in the N number, not entering the “N” (it is required), or presence of a default value indicating the field was not configured. But others resulted from pilot error entering invalid flight IDs, or lack of understanding of the requirements—such as an air carrier where crews entered ADS-B flight IDs that included GOBAMA, GOVOLS, HELLO, and HOWDYALL.

Okay, this is creepy...my kids really did sleep in this morning and we are going to be late for car pool at the daycare.......
Now, if Kim agrees to inspectors.....I will be a D(RJ) believer!!! Gonna be tough since Trump up and left the summit cause Kim wasn’t budging.....but maybe D(RJ) knows that Kim is going to call Q0, errrrr, AF1 while Trump is flying and agree to it

From your own link...……………
Exactly what I've been trying to explain to you 100 times.
The callsign comes from the flightplan.
quote:
One emerging issue is call sign mismatch—when the flight ID transmitted by ADS-B does not match the call sign specified in the flight plan
Exactly what I've been trying to explain to you 100 times.
The callsign comes from the flightplan.
quote:
In August the FAA published a legal interpretation—requested by its own Air Traffic Organization—that requires the aircraft’s ADS-B flight ID, whether it’s a call sign or registration number, to match what’s filed on the flight plan. Noncompliance would violate FAR 91.227.
quote:
§91.227(d)(8) is meant to ensure that ATC is able to correlate flight plan information with information presented on the radar display,” the FAA said.

More zingers.....
quote:
GA mismatches are likely to increase as more ADS-B-equipped aircraft fly volunteer and charitable missions for organizations that have FAA-approved call signs
quote:
Controllers will receive a CSMM alert when the ADS-B call sign does not exactly match the flight plan call sign;
quote:
this requires a controller response and can be distracting.

This makes it sound like they CAN change it, but it’s a violation.....so technically, Squatch is right that a pilot could change callsign, but they would be violating the law

bullshite. You’re changing the argument again.
You’ve been arguing for two days that it’s fricking impossible for a flight crew to alter the ID being transmitted. You said this two fricking posts ago. You have been proven wrong over and over again.
Then:
We’re not talking about the flight plan. We’re talking about the ID that is being transmitted and picked up by flight trackers and ATC.
I can change my ADS to broadcast FU JD if I want...I’ll just get in trouble.
Done

Okay, Jeff. You're spinning out over the AF1 transponder issue. Nobody wins, like that. I don't want you getting frustrated and walk away. Let's shift tracks, slightly to a tangential topic: DJT is Q+.
There are a number of reasons for this line of thinking. It's not the first time it's come up, but we'll look at a single instance. (There are over 2 dozen individual drops that have been signed Q+ instead of just Q).
On June 20, 2018, Trump held a rally for one of the Senate candidates in MN.
There's a guy on the aisle as Trump enters the arena wearing a black shirt, with a huge red, white and blue Q on it, with the words "Why is this relevant?" below it.
Shirt looks like this:
Trump comes in to much fanfare, and as he's making his way to the podium, points at the dude in the Q shirt. (Video is at 12:30).
Here's a still of the moment:
Now some might say, "That's not very conclusive. What if he was pointing at the blonde, next to the Q Shirt Guy? What if she had a great rack? What if he wanted to grab her by the pussy?"
All great questions. Let's look at it from the perspective of the guy in the Q shirt. (0:23)
Why don't we freeze frame that, just in case:
This rally was pretty well covered, and as you might imagine, the guy in the Q shirt was pretty excited. After all, to this point, it's been 2 months since the Tampa rally where everyone had the Q signs/shirts/etc, and the MSM had been pretty relentless in their attacks on folks. This was clearly a positive moment for the movement. Even moreso - he was approached by campaign people and given a VIP access badge:
Later that night, Q posted this:
Link to the drop, where an anon stitched together both videos side-by-side.
Hmmm... That day marked exactly 17 months since DJT's inauguration? Interesting.
He also got a call out on his tweet, but the drop was signed Q+, not just Q.
Fast forward a couple of months to October 2018. Trump holds another rally, and the dude in the Q shirt (who has been dubbed VIPAnon by the community) was invited to it, with the opportunity to meet the President afterward.
He wore a t-shirt to the rally, and took a dress shirt and sport coat for a photo op once he met POTUS.
He posted about the experience on Q Research General afterward and also put it on Twitter:
Q responds:
A few weeks later, VIPAnon came back and posted his photo that he finally received in the mail:
To meet the President, no matter who is in the Oval Office is pretty damned cool, but when it's THIS President? That's fricking epic.
What's up with that signature on the back?
Looks like (((+))) from where I'm sitting.
So, with that being the case, I'm curious what the general population's thoughts on this Q+ instance might be.
ETA - I forgot that this Q drop came in about a week later. Of note is the (((Q+))) included before Q's signature.

We’re not talking about the flight plan.
Yes, we are. There's a piece you're missing you refuse to aknowledge that is whats causing this blood pressure spike in your head veins. We'll get back to it in a minute. First let's deal with your cat boy amateur airplane nerd in the UK....
CivMilAir App (aka cat pic boy) Poses Possible Security Problem For Secret Service..... LINK.................
quote:
A friend and colleague, Mark Estabrook, has been warning about this for some time. A popular UK air tracking app, CivMilAir, showed a call sign for Air Force 1 as they visibly passed over the UK.
quote:
A former Secret Service agent, Jonathan Wackrow, remarked,“In the age of social media, this highlights a new vulnerability that the Secret Service and military have to be super mindful of in the future,” Wackrow says. “You’re charting new territory with the inclusion of social media from a threat perspective and from an awareness perspective, and future planning is going to address that.”
Translation: You can't track airforce1 and other military ops. They don't allow it on any of the U.S. based tracking sites. But, new technology has made it possible for an airplane nerd to find a loophole to sniff out AF1.
Exactly like what I've been saying.
Also, since you're mad at me calling for super flight tracker man "cat boy", lets look at the headline pic from his civmil twitter page...
[/img] Below this pic, it reads, and I quote.....
"Greetings new followers!
Here, you'll probably see aircraft movements, kitty pics, political swipes at anyone including trump & me tweeting about anything else I choose.
Wanna buy me a coffee?"

I'm going to go do some work now, so that Trump will have a tax base to confiscate money as he continues to set records with the ballooning national debt...…….. but I'll be back to address transponder-gate and point-a-finger-gate later. Goop gop gibby, a gap slap bop, ba doop dop, shuckity DOO

Vox, that was a very engaging story until the very end. Q dropped the (((Q+))) a week AFTER the VIPanon plastered the picture all over 8chan.

That's your takeaway?
How many VIP's does the president randomly hand out at his rallies, to come backstage later and take pics?
5? 10? 50? 100?
If it's not something he normally does, then it is a very noteworthy story.
It it's something he regularly does, with hundreds, thousands of people over time, it isn't all that noteworthy. Someone happened to be wearing a Q shirt when the president picked him.
Regarding the president's alleged comments on Q, that doesn't surprise me at all, he's a news junkie, he's on the twitterverse, his son is probably one of Q followers, certainly the president has heard of Q. So the fact he acknowledged having heard of Q, then said "I don't know if he's real or not" isn't proof of anything. Actually, I would be more surprised if he said he never heard of Q.

If you assume this guy is legit, then either the recipient drew the (((+))) on the photo himself and then claimed it arrived that way or someone in the Administration did it.
If the latter then it’s an obvious Q+ reference. Whether it means they’re just messing with folks or its all legit remains to be seen.

Would've been nice if there was an "unboxing video" of the package, rather than photos, but there's always the possibility of having someone from the WH address it.

Maybe when he said he'd heard of Q, he meant the guy from MI6 in the James Bond movies

eyes are on the east
look west
it is whispered that soon
if we *all* call the tune
then the piper will lead us to reason
And a new day will dawn
For those who stand long
And the forests will echo with laughter
And it makes me wonder
