I like it, I wonder if he'll stay on staff in some capacity after the season or if he'll get another DC job somewhere.

This is straight out of the Sick Naban coverband playbook, but who cares. Brilliant move.
Is this why we dominated auburn defensively?

So, we have basically 3 DCs right now. So, why only 1 OC?
Chaney could use some help too.

I'd argue that Chaney needs more help than Tucker/Smart, but I still like the move.

A guy who looks alot like Cam Cameron was eating a Cubano Especial at Cali-n-Titos last week.
But that's none of my business.

I'm sure if there was an opportunity to bring in a big name consultant for the offense then it would happen. Bringing in a consultant like this has more to do with availability and convenience than anything else.

James Coley was the OC at Miami

"At the time, Notre Dame was 103rd in the nation in total defense and 101st in scoring, allowing 33.5 points per game. But insiders say that had a lot more to do with the Irish’s talent base than anything Van Gorder was doing."
Notre Dame plays a tough schedule and apparently top 15ish recruiting doesn't cut it against the college football elites.

With the addition of vangorder and Kelly's likely departure, what are the chances of us landing a couple of their coveted recruits?

Do they have any? Serious question, I know nothing about that team other than that they had a dumpster fire season, just vacated a bunch of wins, and I hate them.

I seriously doubt Van Gorder is here beyond this season.

Rusty on 247 said he's merely here to help out for a couple of weeks. We'll see if it materializes to anything more than that but I don't think its time to start thinking about poaching croots

While we're at it, let's get Brian Kelly to take over OC

We're in the coaching rehab business like Bama and Ohio State

I like it. I think Jeff is right. This is out of the Nick Saban Playbook. I do think he was brought on to help against AU...and I believe he will prob be here through end of the season.

He will give us the download for next year's Notre dame game as well, great move.
