…and they won’t bring the same level of revenue that a conference/P5 game would bring.

It’s all chest thumping. They aren’t going to screw with the revenue.

Plus, you have the media contracts in play.

Turning a road game into a home game brings in a shite ton of more revenue. It would be a windfall.

But losing a home game against TTY will most likely result in less revenue. Sisters of the poor will bring in money, just not the same rates.

I doubt any of the Big12 schools are going to forfeit and take a loss.

In theory the Big 12 can use whatever crieteria it wants to choose the teams it wants in the Big 12 Championship Game. Say you don't get dinged if you forefeit against Texas Tech. Also the CFP Committee can choose whatever criteria it wants to the choose the playoff teams. Say you don't get dinged if you forefeit against Texas Tech. Or the CFP Committee says frick it, we're not choosing Texas Tech regardless.

But it’s not. They lose more by allowing to bet on your team without repercussions

You are a shitty poster but I agree with this take. This guy is not playing college football this year in Div1.

He will definitely play if the decision remains up to Texas tech .

They didn't just spend a shite load of money on a lawyer to get cold feet now. Plus the additional nil money to get him to come there in the first place.

Sorsby supposedly financed the legal action, not TTU, but of course, he funded it with the money he got paid to come to TTU.

I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes at B12 HQ or what legal action is in the works. I do follow some B12 content due to my OSU ties.

I’m not seeing any talk about forfeiting games; none at all.

If anything, you might see some sanctions from the B12 office, but they aren’t messing with the revenue.

All TT has to do is say he bet on his own team. We didn't know when we recruited him. We aren't playing him. But no, they have some west Texas oil goon funding their athletic program and they do what he says.

I get it.

As for the West Texas oil goon, how is that any different than the chicken guy who funds LSU or any other countless examples?

They seem to be more aggressive and take more chances than other types of businessmen. This is a game to him and buying recruits is the best way to keep score.

He played at TTU. His father played at TTU. He’s a fourth generation alumnus. His wife went to TTU, and that’s where they met.

It’s not like he’s a sidewalk fan with a great t-shirt collection trying to glom onto something.

I didn't say he was. My point is he has money and likes taking chances. He's invested in Sorsby and wants to see his investment pay off. Whereas LSU's chicken man may be more conservative and concerned about the consequences of Sorsby playing.

I wonder if he knows the odds of him being able to play again and how much he laid down on it?

I mean that's four generations and marriages into little brotherhood..... Seems someone would have broken the academic inbreeding by attending one of the none lessor schools in Texas.

The most scenic view of Lubbock in from your rearview mirror.... After zipping through the west Texas town of Amarillo, my wife was like no wonder all of George Straights wives and girlfriends left.... Amarillo by never....

No better way to hedge your gambling recovery, than to bet on it.
