We will make it to the Georgia Dome. Mason did a good job coming in off the bench. With an entire off season to prepare I think the offense will be among the best in the conference. The Defense will show their potential.

Murray's final gift might have been allowing Mason to get some game experience. :(

Anyways, I think the return of JSW, Marshall and MM will help him out. Will the O-line play well?

Most of our defensive linemen are pretty good, and they're going to be bigger and stronger this year. Pass rush should be pretty fricking elite with Drew/Jenkins/Floyd, and if Carter can contribute immediately, he may add something to this defense that's special.

The secondary...really hoping a year under their belts allows them to understand the game a little more. Curious to see the starting tandem on G-Day. Will Parish make an impact as a freshman?

Lot of question marks. We return a lot of guys, which is always nice, but too early to know for sure. Won't get kool-aid drunk until August.

It has been a long, long time since I smoked weed. I hear that it is much more potent today. Looks like they are right.

we have a better chance of magically getting on a hot streak, winning our conference tournament, then March Madness for a surprise men's basketball title than we do winning it all in football.

Ridiculous statement.

I just don't understand the folks who still feel Richt is not capable of winning it all. Guy has come very close 2 or 3 times. A break here or there, and he would have. He's gotten unlucky, but he is very capable of winning it all.

Yea, I saw a similar show leading up to last season and watched as the plane crashed.

Richt lost 4 games in 2001 and was a game away from playing for the title in 2002.

Richt lost 4 games in 2006 and was a game away from potentially playing for the title in 2007.

Richt lost 7 games in 2010 and played for the SECCG in 2011.

Richt lost 4 games in 2011 and was a play away from probably winning the title against Notre Dame in 2012.

Richt lost 5 games in 2013 and ____________ in 2014.

It might not be as good as the previous years, but it wouldn't shock me to see something special. I'd say we should definitely expect to be on the uptick given that trend. The SEC is kind of like a mini NFL where you can literally go from 12-2 to 8-5 because of some bad luck and ill timed injuries.

With our schedule set up the way it is, at least 10 wins will happen if we create a few more turnovers this year and stay healthy.

ETA: This will be the first year against Spurrier at USCe that Richt will have more time to prepare than him. It's only the 2nd time it's happened in his career against USCe. The other time was 2002. We beat Clemson at home in a close one, had a bye week, then beat Carolina at Williams-Brice in a close one.

I will go on record as predicting a MUCH improved performance out of the secondary in the coming year.

Our pass defense finished up last season ranked 59th so there's plenty of room for improvement. Big plays on 3rd and Grantham and of course the fiasco that was that ridiculous defense on 4th down vs Auburn really hurt us. They actually finished better than I expected. In contrast, Auburn's pass defense finished 202nd which begs the question how in the hell did they win the SECC? Pretty much they scored more points in shootouts but it finally caught up with them vs FSU.

Without Murray, we just need to pound the rock with Gurley, Marshall, and whatever other rb rises to the top. Just really wear down the Defense and their spirit, make them pay for it in the 4th quarter. This in turn will keep our D fresher, so technically, they can play better. Use play action and screens to Gurley. It would be that simple. The only question, is the OL man enough for it?

Well one other big question...will Gurley stay healthy? If he stays healthy all season then we've got a shot at something special.

That and some lucky breaks. Don't get me wrong...every team that wins a Natty gets some lucky breaks along the way. This COULD be our year...only time will tell.

That's the big if for sure and it's why I'll continue to remain hesitant. We got some damn firewinds running around these days thinking that making ATL is guaranteed and being surprised make the playoffs.
