Elias King, the kid that committed tonight, recently said he, Ashton Hagan, a 5-Star, and a 4-star all from GA have talked about wanting to all 4 play together in college.

We have 4 roster spots available for that class. Our basketball team has the potential to be so nasty.

This is the kind of shite we need. The basketball equivalent to what we're doing in football... Get a crew that wants to do shite together. Enough talent in Georgia to make that happen... Need a tournament win this year in the worst way. As I've said before... I'd prefer to eat crow and be wrong on Fox... If the recruiting trends this direction and can couple it with some real tangible success this year would be awesome!

The last several seasons I’ve not gotten into this much but I believe that the recruiting philosophy of Mark Fox has been to try to find as many diamonds in the rough as possible.

So we’ve recruited 3 stars and built up from there. People have complained but in the one and done era if we are able to develop our guys we can compete the back half of their careers and then gradually improve. Currently, we have a very deep team and only one strong recruit and a team full of diamonds in the rough but we’ve built a foundation to allow us to get 4-stars and up while continuing to be competitive.

I also think kirby has influenced Mark Fox a bit in that Kirby targets a great leader for the class from the start and that person pushes the needle to get the rest of the class. This is what’s happening with Hagans.

Everyone complained about the strategy of Fox to start with these 3 star diamonds but it’s build a fundamental base that is improving year by year and has us on track for long term sustained success.

Didn't think to look it up last night, but the only other composite 5* from Georgia is Okoro... is that who we think that he would be referring to with "a 5-star ... from Georgia"? Obviously a lot of other 4* guys, so tougher to predict.

Also, who is the 4th spot... I know we've got 3 seniors that will run out of eligibility. Who am I missing?

I can’t find the article that claims Elias King said they talked about it. I thought the Article said Armando Bacot and apparently they play AAU together. I could be wrong and it could be Isaac Okoro from McEachern.

The four spots will come from Turtle, Toe, Derek O, and Mike Edwards.

All of these guys are will graduate for the ‘19 class. We have one more spot to fill for the ‘18 class. I would bet Fox fills it with someone and we get Hagans to stay on track with the ‘19 class. Could have an extra spot in ‘18 if Mike Edwards transfers after this season.

Kentucky is playing zone defense against us. If that doesn’t show the respect that Calipari has for us, nothing does.

Calipiri and Fox are friends FWIW. I think Calipiri takes Fox very seriously

Speaking of Kentucky, did anyone see their crazy fan stalking a b-ball recruits’s parents?

Guy was a manager at a Chile’s and somehow got the parent’s cellphone and started texting them. Eventually telling them their son wasn’t good enough for Kentucky. Chile’s is now doing an investigation lol
