College football existed long before professional football. So winning a college championship means as much, and in many cases more, than a superbowl win.

That’s a hell of a reach and college championships do not mean more than super bowl titles. You can look at economic impacts and super bowls triple and quadruple those of a CFB national title game.

You and I like CFB more than the NFL, sure, so a CFB title would mean more to us, but the wider population cares much more about the NFL.

I also don’t think a sport being older makes it matter more. Otherwise, World Series championships would be the most meaningful titles in American sports and you and I both know they don’t hold a candle to football titles.

Back to MLS, didn't that come from socialism? The franchise team got all the top players for a year or two by rule?

I don’t know. Honestly, all I know about MLS is that Atlanta United’s really damn good and won the title last year.

What are we celebrating here? A startup gets an all-star team for a couple years and lo and behold, they win.

Yeah. Isn’t that what Auburn did in 2010?

he last few clips I've seen of press conferences, there is a guy who can barely talk, can't get the words out of his mouth. The interviewee's seem to have alot of patience and understanding while he asks the question. I assume he has some sort of disability. Who is he? What's his story?

ocassionally, I'll hear a Kirby presser through 680 the fan, and there is usually a guy with a pretty intense stutter. I'm guessing this is the one you are asking about?

And you are right, Kirby specifically seems really good about giving the gentleman time to get the question out. Can't be easy.

RE: Ledbetter...
I happened across some tweets where people were bitching about an Atlanta writer talking shite about soccer which then turned into folks making fun of the Atlanta teams outside of Atl United. I never could find what prompted all of this, so I'm glad the poster in here mentioned this. Should make for some good reading this morning.

Who could blame them? I suddenly find myself liking these Dawg cats quite a bit more. Or did I misunderstand you?

and whether people like it or not, people (especially ITP) definitely give a shite about Atlanta United.

Assuming you can find two of them, then yes, that statement is technically correct.

Being really damn good by MLS standards is still like being the prettiest girl at the burn ward mixer. It ain't exactly a high bar.

Exactly. I'm somewhat of a soccer fan. If it ain't EPL, Bundesliga, or La Liga it ain't shite. MLS is a joke compared to the foreign professional leagues in Europe.
