Definitely a great win. Will come in huge down the stretch if we are on the bubble. This team continues to improve each game and we really aren’t crazy dependent on any one player. We’ve now had 7 different players lead a game in scoring.
It will be interesting to see who gets the ball with 10 seconds to go, down by 1, on the road in SEC play….Not sure I really think anyone SHOULD get it with how this team plays. My guess is it would be a lot of ball movement to the open man.
Really like what CMW has done. Hopefully we can keep it up Saturday and hopefully we can overcome a loss quickly, as it will happen.
Next up….Vols on Saturday at noon on ESPN2

i don't really mean anything crazy other than it would mean we are good enough and likely gonna make it (again, if we win saturday, which we probably wont).

awesome win last night. I was busy with other shite so didn't check in here much but had it on watching. Really, really annoyed that both RJ and Hill took shots with like 25 seconds left on the shot clcok with under 2 minutes left holding a slim lead. I don't know if that's coaching where MW should've hammered into them to hold the ball, or if htey just wanted some more glory on the stat sheet or what. But hey, ultimatley it didn't matter which is all that counts.
For maybe our best player to be absolutely ice cold and us still win a 9pm weeknight game against a basketball progrma miles better than ours is jsut tremendous. I know Arky isn't what they typically are but who cares. 2-0 in conference play and 10 wins in a row? Man it's impossible not to be jacked. Got a tough stretch coming up so getting these first 2 was massive.

I’ve been saying all season this defense is legit. Don’t know if we make the tournament but when our defense plays like it can we can beat anyone.

im torn on (i think) the RJ shot. it was early in the clock, but we were probably going to win anyway, and he was as wide open as you can be on a basketball court and it would have ended the game immediately.
it was like a 4th and inches where you can go for it and if you get it, the game is over. if you go for it and miss, you're probably gonna win, but gotta keep playing. if you don't go for it and punt (in this case, dont shoot and run the clock), you're also probably gonna win but you gotta play it out.

CMW has insisted that RJ is a good shooter. Stats don’t back it up.
If he doesn’t bring up his numbers in the next few games CMW needs to get him to cut down on his 3-PT attempts.
I love RJ’s energy, defense, and rebounding but the turnovers and missed shots can be brutal sometimes

They never said that. What they said, was they didn’t think he could ever win it all and hit his peak. No one has ever said he couldn’t recruit or coach.
They kinda considered him like Mark Richt ended up. Could get them to the tournament every year, maybe a decent March run or two, but never bring home a championship.

I’ll be reporting live at the Stegosaurus tomorrow @ 12. First game with my 11 Y/O daughter. Also first Tennessee game w/o my dad. I’m currently undefeated against UT in the Steg. Hopefully my streak continues. Go Dawgs!

I just remember them always saying he could never get a consistently good offense.
It’s gotten better each game but our offense is definitely the weak part of this team. There’s probably some truth to what they say, but he’s definitely good enough to get us on the national scene.

A player who deserves a lot more praise this year:
Frank Anselem.
He was such a mess last year. Terrible offense and fouling too much.
This year, he’s one of our best defenders and is playing smart on offense.
58% shooting compared to 47% last year. A lot of value in a player who knows his limits on offense

Definitely like how we’ve improved our boxing out since the early games, where I felt like it was a problem…that could be coached up and has.
