Damn it! I thought it was our stifling defense.

I am impressed with the movement and flow of our offense tonight. A lot of movement. You can tell they’re getting more comfortable/better every game.

We've got some players. Hoping for the NIT and a first round win. I like what Coach White is doing, especially since he is starting at ground zero.

Actually yes.

KenPom has our defense in the 90th percentile of the nation.

We consistently hold our opponents to lower FG % than average and force a lot of turnovers

I'm sure our defense is fine, but tech was missing open layups. They were cold. Which I'm okay with.

Tech looked cold as ice to me. But if it looked to you like tech was at the top of their game and it was our stifling defense that stopped 'em cold - I hope you're right.

Good defenses do that. There’s a pattern here.

Check this out:

Oregon
Season: 47% FG
vs UGA: 42% FG

Wake Forest
Season: 48%
vs UGA: 39%

NC Central
Season: 45%
vs UGA: 33%

Miami
Season: 50%
vs UGA: 45%

Providence
Season: 47%
vs UGA: 46%

Winthrop
Season: 47%
vs UGA: 42%

FSU
Season: 46%
vs UGA: 34%

Mercer
Season: 43%
vs UGA: 40%

GA Tech
Season: 41%
vs UGA: 32%

Not to mention the season numbers would be even higher without the UGA games.

We have a very good defense. Offense needs work.

We have a good defense, but that doesn't mean tech didn't have a bad night. I think they shot their lowest percentage of the year. They missed the rim on open jumpers and missed easy layups. I've watched all of our games and that's the worst shooting effort I've seen from an opponent all year.

But, like I said - if you think that was all because of our defense, I hope you're right.

We were resting our starters. And the refs screwed us.

Still feel like we are missing too many shots and our free throw shooting HAS to improve.
Like I’ve said all year, this team will win some games in the SEC and probably pull off an upset or two. We have a tough schedule, but could still be a bubble team with continued improvements.

I like where the program is heading and excited for the rest of this year, but especially the future

Dawgs down by 3 at the half. One of the worst 1st half’s of the year. Hopefully they make some adjustments and rebound the ball a little better in 2nd half.

Dawgs on a little run in the final 10 minutes. Starting to pull away. 59-50

This wasn’t a terrible win.
High Point is

155 in KenPom
148 in Torvik
108 in NET

Held them to 23% shooting.

Rebounding was bad but can be somewhat expected with High Point 6th in the country in rebounding margin

This defense is legit. Offense needs to keep improving

That was a good win. That long break fricked us up IMO. Hopefully the offense gets back on track. FT’s were a pleasant surprise today. Defense made adjustments on the perimeter and locked down the 3 in the 2nd half. Guard play sucked today. Need Thomason to play more consistent. On to Mt. St. Mary’s.

They shot a lot of bricks and their Center was always in a good spot for rebounds. We sucked at the line the first half, but turned it up in second. Ill take it.

I don’t think the guard play was too bad….

Thomasson: 11 PTS, 4-10 FG

Demary:
12 PTS | 4-7 FG | 6 REB | 4 AST | 2 STL

I’ve been hoping to get a PG like Demary for a while. He’s efficient, really solid defensively, and doesn’t play like a freshman.

Moncrieffe was terrible today. He’s been a bit of a spark this season defensively but holy shite every time he drives the ball I cringe.

Our starting bigs combining for 8 total rebounds is why this was close. We need Deloach back. He’s like Moncrieffe but taller, better defensively and smarter offensively
