Yeah, I was gonna say there would probably be 2-3 less spots. It's not a ton, but for a team in the position we're in we definitely want that bubble to be as big as possible.

They say the bubble is really weak this year. If our RPI is in the 30s I don't see a way we don't get in. We are 49 right now. I think we will be pretty close to 30s before we play Arkansas assuming we win against LSU and Auburn.

The bubble is weak because there are not a ton of midmajors this year contending for a spot.
However, the big conferences all have a lot of bubble teams this year.
If we get into the 30s with 20 wins, we will not be left out, considering our SOS is top 20.
I think our best bet is to win out, and get a seed that gives us a chance to win 2 in the SECT

Right at this second, our RPI is 51, and we are playing #171 today.
Its going to take a win against Kentucky or Florida in the SEC Tournament before we are going to be strongly considered, because our RPI isnt going to jump that much with the schedule we have left, unless teams in front of us just bottom out.

It's been the same story all year: this team is a big ol bag of meh. Had at least 6 opportunities in conference alone to get one or two signature wins and came up short every time.
This team needs a signature win to advance and the only place they'll get it at this point is in the conference tourney. Take care of what you can control during the season and you don't have to sweat out the possibility of winning 4 straight to end the season and at least 2 in your conference tournament just to be considered.

No our RPI is 49.

If we win tonight and against Auburn, surely teams around us in RPI will lose as well, we should be closer to the 30s.

ESPN RPI does not go by the same formula as what the NCAA uses.
If you go by the NCAA site, we are at 50, and that was updated last night.
LINK
Now if you go to warrennolan.com, they use the same exact formula as the NCAA, and they do an up to the minute RPI, and from games played so far today, we are at 51.

LSU should be relegated to the Sun Belt.

I did not know that. Thanks for the info...either way we are around 50 and a couple of more wins before Arkansas will only help our RPI.

Games against bad teams can drop rpi

So, Crump has a pattern: hit 2 smooth 3s, air ball the 3rd

Anybody know the tie breaker between us and Alabama?
Posted on 2/25/17 at 5:30 pm to DoubleDawg22
The key in anything is to never trust ESPN in anything. You know they use their own RPI, BPI, QB Rating, or whatever formula they can come up with to make them seem more desirable to watchers.
Now after saying that, Lunardi does do a good job with the bracketology. He usually has like 66 of the 68 teams in the bracket, and you can never truly know what the committee is thinking, but he is close.

Well, they still have @ A&M tonight, OM at home this week, and @ Tennessee next Saturday. No guarantee we're both still tied when it's all said and done

I saw a press release that the SEC released on Friday. It was on the rant, but I cant find it. I think it had the tiebreakers on it.

Edwards playing with confidence down the stretch. Bigs are going to look gooooooood next year
Posted on 2/25/17 at 5:37 pm to djsdawg
especially since SOS is weighted heavily in RPI.
We've dropped down to 52 in the past few mins. Providence jumped us with their win against Marquette today.

They lose 2 of those three and we beat Auburn and Arkansas and we are tied. Could definitely happen.
Durden, I agree...Edwards is starting to get it figured out we could really use one more big to come in a produce on the boards really well. I'm including Yante in that comment for next year.
