Why the frick do we run our offense 25 feet from the God damn basket? We're doing the defense a big favor by running his 1960's offense

Right on cue, hack on Edwards, no call. At least he made the second attempt. Ugh... awful 3 shot by turtle, we get the reb, and instead of trying to go back up with it, kick it out when the shot clock was already too far down.

Part of that is dictated based on where UK sets up defensively. They can afford to press farther out due to what they believe to be superior athletes who can shut down the middle if we get penetration. For us, we set up right around the 3pt perimeter for almost the exact opposite reason.

We have to defend and we can't play with them man to man...that's why they are in a zone. They are quicker and faster than us all across the board.

I think he's trying to make UK shoot. Other than Willis and Monk, they don't have a ton of great shooters. We also don't have the athleticism and size to stay with them.

A zone D is meant to bait the other team to shoot long jumpers. They have 3 legit three-point threats, so I don't know why you say they don't have great shooters.

I didn't back it up, and admittedly am doing several things at once, but the first one didn't look clean. The second did though. Either way, Edwards isn't the guy who's going to get that call in most situations anyways.

Because they're ranked 166th in 3 point shooting percentage
I said Willis and Monk can shoot, and you have to cover them. Mulder has a decent shot as well. If Briscoe and Fox beat you from long range you live with it.

You're completely missing the point. Kentucky has 3 guys on the court who can outshoot any UGA player (since you're focusing on %). A zone defense can't account for more than two spot up shooters. That's not a knock on UGA, it's almost impossible with any team.
Go watch Duke play. They always have at least 2 good shooters on the perimeter, and watch how they do against a zone.
