the hell? That's a surprise. I generally only keep up with the team during the sesaon adn dont' follow recruiting, but it seemed like we were losing most of our bats from last year and some strong pitchers. I know Hancock and Wilcox are back but I just assumed we'd take a massive step back.
At any rate, I'm glad to see us get some love but the last 2 years have soured the small bit of goodwill I had towards stricklin. If we don't make omaha this yeaer he should absolutley be fired, I mean at that point what else would we be waiting on?

Different team and level, but I'm still trying to find my energy for baseball after the Game 5 Deep-Dicking the Braves made me watch.

Our pitching is really strong this year. Excellent Friday and Saturday starters in Hancock and Wilcox with experienced 3-4-5 guys in CJ Smith, Will Proctor, and Logan Moody with experienced bullpen and closer options in Glover, Webb, Gowen, and Pasqua. Pitching talent coming in is supposed to be top notch, too, with Garrett Brown and Jonathan Cannon rating pretty well.
Defense still has a lot going for it too with Shepherd and Sully and Jernigan and Bradley coming back. Meadows returns behind the plate with Marshall a year more experienced. Riley King is going to fill Talleys spot at 2nd and Garrett Blaylock who started at Vandy will take over for Schunk at 3rd
Big question is where do we find runs outside of the proven guys (Shep, Bradley, Meadows, Marshall, Sully, Jernigan, King). Chaney Rogers and the Tate twins got a lot of experience last year off the bench. Blaylock is going to be our main power bat but there’s been a lot of buzz around Ben Anderson coming on as this year’s Riley King and will start at RF as a result

I look forward to getting excited and then losing in the regionals as Scott Stricklin masters the skills his mentor, Mark Richt, taught him on maintaining his position

The question isn’t whether we will host another regional but to which ACC team of destiny we will lose to this year. I don’t know if they even have a team but Boston College sounds like the kind of spunky assholes with a former major leaguer’s kid on the squad that could roll in here and shite on home plate

That sounds so spot on, I'm gonna go ahead and preemptively start hating Boston college now. Do you think their baseball team has a message board?

Just got to a Red Sox board and start some shite. You may actually inspire some people to become fans just because some a-hole from Georgia called them on it
Could you imagine if someone from Michigan State joined our board and tried to start shite with us about our hockey team?

Nobody in my actual life is going to understand, at all, but I'm now fully in on being a Boston college hater. I am slightly buzzed (got an early day off work I'm not a lush) but there's a girl I went to high school with that went to bc that I haven't spoken to in 15 years and I'm thinking about sending her a FB message calling her a bitch or something. Idk yet, haven't really refined the script yet

The goal is to make them wonder in the back of their minds if we might be from the future

lol. this is a harsh take. and probably not a 100% accurate viewpoint. but it pretty much sums up the way i feel. i literally live two blocks from foley and listen to danzler and johnston calling the games all spring.i get into my jeep,, hear the game is on, and drive down the hill by foley to wherever i'm actually going. all spring long. it's like being an old brooklyn dodgers fan circa 1950, pulling for your neighborhood team and having them be a part of your daily existence. i see the players coming and going from foley while i'm walking my dog. i'm personal friends with the pernos but also a fan of the direction stricklin hs taken this program. but all this to say i basically agree with you and am waiting for him to take the next step. you get a regional at home you have got to win that thing, period.

I’ll be honest, I’m just happy to have competitive baseball in Athens again. But get back to me when we shite our pants in the final 2 games of a regional, again, and ask me how I feel.
