So Richt was the one that didn't adjust the defense the while game?

No Richt is the one who had 2 damn weeks to get this team ready to play and once again he failed like he always does

You're right again Dawgs9. You've been preaching it since the ODR days.

I wish. He's a great guy but it's apparent he's hit his ceiling as head coach at Georgia. Would love to see a win/win situation work out for CMR and UGA

Can anyone name a coach that has less to do with the operation of their team than Mark Richt?

Didn't Beamer just sign a new contract? Also, wouldn't Bud Foster technically be the coach in waiting? Seems line a one for one swap with a guy that is about 15 years younger.

I honestly don't know about this. Richt started out as a very hands-on HC and OC. Then I got the impression that the powers that be encouraged him to delegate more authority to his supporting cast. For this to work you have to make good hires and Martinez was a big flop as our DC.

Bobo definitely struggled early on as OC but has grown into the job. Grantham was a definite upgrade as DC but his personality was not a good fit. Pruitt was a homerun hire but he inherited a pretty depleted defense and more left who were not willing to comply with Pruitt's coaching style. I expect the defense to improve over time under Pruitt with better recruiting and coaching.

I fully expected our offense to be worse with the loss of Murray; Mason is a serviceable QB but that's about it. Our running game was a pleasant surprise but we still lack innovation on offense against better defenses even when we have 2 weeks to prepare; see SC and Florida.

One of our biggest problems is an ongoing high rate of attrition to top players on offense and defense. We recruit well enough to win the East every season but too often many of our best players are not on the field. In other words our realized/fielded team is not nearly as good as our recruiting rankings.

Couple that with Richt's inability to maintain a full roster and we often lack depth in a number of positions. We also don't recruit well enough on both the offensive and defensive lines. Most games in general are won or lost in the trenches and the Florida game yesterday was a classic example of just that.

Richt is big into recruiting and after that point he sits back and watches, JMO
