He wasn't serious about us last go aroudn but who knows having trob may be huge.
We'll be ok at safety regardless, but at an absolute worst case MINIMUM, this is a massive blow to alabama and makes our game against them in 8 months that much more managebale. If he does end up coming here that's a cherry on top.
And just to get ahead of myself here...I wonder if Starks/Downs would be one of the best safety tandems in CFB history? There probably aren't a ton that would stack up I wouldn't think. Just in the last 50 years our best would likely be Sean Jones/Thomas Davis in 2003 (followed shortly by Davis/Blue, but I think Sean Jones was definitely better overall than Blue so I'll go with that combo instead) and of course we've had some solid ones under kirby too. But starks/downs would be unreal.

Rusty and Graham both think UGA is the favorite. Basically don't think Kirby misses out on him twice.

I want him to come to GA, but even when you watch the video of him and Kirby after the SECG, I didn't get the vibe GA was "all that" to him.

apparently (no clue at all, just copying what I've read elsewhere) his family was pretty anti-UGA during recruitment for some reason or other. Allegedly the dad diodn't like us at all. We finished a very, very distant 3rd and weren't even a factor at all in actually landign him from HS.
HOPefully, a year to mend fences and robinson coming over has helped.

I think a lot of the stuff with Downs’ family is probably overstated.

Also their starting left tackle Kayden Proctor just entered. Honestly I’m not entirely worried about guys coming to us. I’d love to get Downs or Proctor or whoever, but more than anything? I want as much talent to disperse from Tuscaloosa as possible. Deboer is a good coach so the less talent he has come September the better that bodes for us.

Amazing how that changes for these parents that try to be their kids agent once the circumstances change in a way that could impact Jr’s potential pay day.

Doubt it. Starks to NFL after this year, so his spot would be free in 2025 I'm sure KJ will play a lot as a freshman, too. Kirby would figure out how to get those three on the field at the same time.

Could be photoshop, but just saw a picture of Downs In the UGA student directory. Anyone know where to look to verify?
