Pruitt wasn't retained when we got Kirby. Things are working out fine. Gotta let the coach bring in who he wants to bring in.

Oh, no disagreement from me. I just know others had mentioned how well regarded he was as a recruiter and that he might be the key to getting Hagans back on board.

What are our chances of doing that without Jonas? I feel like Matta's reputation could pull some talent in for sure; just not sure about that particular recruit.

I don't think Hagans really makes or breaks us, tbh. He's an excellent player who I'd love to come to UGA, but he'd likely only be here short-term.

The bigger key is not missing on the Malcolm Brogdons of the world, imo.

Do we have any updates on Matta's decision?

are you asking us if we like it or not or telling us that's when the announcement is?

If he reclassifies to '18 I think you absolutely HAVE TO HAVE him. We'll be ok in the post with DO and clax. Hammonds is a solid wing player. We've got some guys that can play the 2. But we so very desperately lack a dynamic, point scoring PG. I like hightower but he's still relatively unproven. Turtle has seemed to regress and Harris is MIA. I like Crump and he can certainly shoot but he's not really a point. Having a guy like Hagans would make this year 1 transition a lot easier.

I agree. I'm just saying that the year 1 transition if pretty far down the list of priorities for me.

Matta is expected to make a decision on Wednesday, although it could always stretch into Thursday.

Starting to get a little nervous about this. Seemed like it was full steam ahead this time yesterday and now Matta to UGA seems to be losing traction, at least as a "slam dunk".

Yeah, I was worried he was using this to fulfill the terms of his buyout with OSU. I hope that is not the case and he is stringing us along. Seems like if he truly wanted the job this would have already been announced, or at least confirmed.

UGA actually beat some really good teams this year as well. We’re really 3 games from being a decently seeded team in the tournament.

Cool...we can claim a Notional Championship, then.

Well, that's an odd notion.

I think they want to make a splash having our man Ernie Johnson Jr. tell the world during a NCAAT Game halftime.

Didn’t say, only that our offer wasn’t enough to sway him

Now we know what Kentucky feels like in football. I suspected we wasted our time even talking to him. Are we going to waste more time only to have Crean do the same thing?
