To put things into perspective...
I'd take Thomas Davis every time. Not even close. C'mon now.

Thomas Davis was not a better football player than Jarvis. Not even close.

You'd also take a bug over a dawg so your opinion here is irrelevant.

He likes playing in Jacksonville. Too bad they'll be moving to LA within 5 years...
Davis scared the hell out of people with his hitting ability. Hardest hitter we've had in the Richt era. He was a very good pass rusher too. Jarvis is on another level.

For hits Thomas Davis, Greg Blue, and Odell Thurman. For never quitting always and after it, JJ and David Pollack.

Not only is it "even close", I would possibly take Thomas if I'm starting a defense. Maybe time has softened people's memories, but TD was absolutely unbelievable for us for 3 years. He does everything Jarvis does just from farther back. I know he doesn't have the sack numbers, but in 03 and 04 we would line him up outside the DE and he would just get to the QB like Jarvis does now. Not to mention he made people fear going over the middle, and laid some of the most vicious hits I've ever seen.
They're both absolutely outstanding ballplayers, but to say it's not even close is just not accurate.

Also, for anybody who has heard "the speech" by TD in 2010 he would instantly go up about 7 notches in your book.

Jarvis is the smarter player. TD definitely a harder hitter. I think JJ will be the better pro, but he needs the right scheme. Dude has incredible acceleration though - like LT did.

I'm on record saying many times the only three Bulldawgs I truly respect are Thomas Davis, Greg Blue, and Larry Munson.
Until the next one arrives, I'm gonna leave em' at that.

Jags need a RB, MJD finna bounce

The tougher question would have been Pollack vs JArvis.

Odell, That is the one guy I can not figure out how they did not keep him in the NFL. What a waste of talent.
