Have we truly not had a kickoff return for a TD in 11 seasons?

Pretty sure Isaiah McKenzie did didn’t he? Maybe that was a punt return

I wish Mews didn't transfer. Really could have used him this year. Bobo called him Waffle House. Because he's always open.

McKenzie returned one for a TD in the same year against Kentucky.

The fair catch rule where the ball comes out to the 25 yard line has really reduced the number of kick returns. That rule was established prior to the 2018 season. This is at least part of the answer.

Also, kickoffs were moved from the 30 to the 35 in 2012, and kickers are better now than they ever have been. Lot more touchbacks now.

I was just pointing out that the post was wrong. Gurley’s wasn’t the most recent.

2014 could’ve been one of Richt’s best teams if they didn’t blow the SC and GT games in mind-blowing fashion.

Gurley ran back the opening KO vs Auburn that year on his first play back from that bullshite suspension but had it called back.

Yeah, we were at that game. Everybody went absolute cocoa Puffs.

Coldest football game I've ever attended.

We have the best placekicker/punter combo in the country. Some people are just completely thankless and joyless when it comes to Georgia football. There's also the ungodly stat about punt return yardage in the last two years.

That was from Twitter's Grok AI.

I recall numerous IMac punt returns for touchdowns. If he had kickoff return for one, that wouldn't surprise me, but it doesn't jump out at me if so.

Nowhere in my post do I complain about the kicking.

I don’t think it matters because most kickoffs now are touchbacks, but it seems like we haven’t had a good kick return since Kenny McIntosh was running them back.

Also feels like our kick coverage is spotty.

I assume both are a symptom of not spending as much time on them since the vast majority are touchbacks.

Thanks for finding that. It was later that same season as Gurley's vs Clemson at home, apparently.
