Possibly. Maybe 'go south' was a poor choice of words.

That said, I wouldn't want to be sued, even if I was innocent. Obviously, the university has the money to defend themselves so that isn't an issue.

Through discovery, anything can be revealed in a court case. Everyone has their secrets and who knows what could come out. If you thought that article in the AJC was a load of horse shite, wait till you see what they start writing after the plaintiffs' attorneys have spoken with them.

Maybe I misread the statement and the university will come to a settlement with everyone so they can all move on.

Lawsuits were happening regardless. We will be lucky to escape this without serious damage to the program.

Who owned the car? It was a 2021 Ford Expedition. I find it hard to believe that the athletic department would allow UGA vehicles to be used to travel to strip clubs and Waffle House. Did LeCroy own the car? Was it UGA's and she was using it unofficially? Did she have a history of reckless driving that the University should have known about? Answers to these questions will determine UGA's culpability. I personally don't think the University will be hard hit by this from a NCAA standpoint, but I do think there's a likelihood that it will continue to have an emotional impact, and will have a future financial one.

As a reminder, while tragic, everyone involved are adults. Not in any way “kids”.

It was a rental. This has been published all over the place. It's like you don't even read the articles you pop off about.

It's a bit odd the toxicology report hasn't come out. A friend of mine had a wreck back in HS. He told me his tox report came back negative because he lost so much blood. I don't really know the physiology behind that but that's what he told me. It was a terrible accident where the passenger got seriously injured with a lot of attorneys involved. If UGA may settle out of court or I assume they may absolve themselves of liability.

Most of the media reported alcohol was not a factor the night it happened when they took the young lady to the hospital. So if something was a factor it has to be harder than booze which I highly doubt.

Has never been mentioned. Some scumbag sold their left nut to a video though. Speculation imo. Really shitty situation.

All it takes is to not pay attention for a split second at the wrong place and at the wrong time. We've all been distracted in our car and veered a couple feet. She just had the misfortune of veering onto a sidewalk curb right when the road curved. If the sidewalk curb wasn't there, she probably gains back control of the car and none of this happens.

I think this all resonates with us so much not just because it's a football player that we all cheered for, but for the grace of God that could have been us.

I for sure don’t wanna cast aspersions on the deceased driver but it could be not released (tox report) because she had script meds like benzos or similar that could’ve been involved and not necessarily taken nefarious

yah, I haven't heard alcohol was involved. One would think in her position and having a large vehicle that she was tasked to transport players around after partying from the celebration. I recall Barnett Shoals was 2 lane when I was in school but it didn't seem too curvy at that spot. Was used to speed down research road all the time over by Player's Club. Maybe she got distracted or was a bad driver, but just odd she just ran off the road. Just a terrible tragedy we all wish did not happen. That and the Stetson news just seemed to be a bitter endnote to our back to back championship run.
