1. Championship focus. No let-downs, please. If this team is what I think it is they we'll see motivation, effort, and focus from kickoff and through the game. After a week of adulation, let's stay hungry.
2. Outplaying an elite unit. UT's O-Line is the first truly elite unit this D has seen so far this season. These are the matchups that determine if you're really good or if you're championship caliber.
3. Improvement/contribution from key players. Burton, White, Bennett, Washington, Cook, & DJ Daniel. These guys have played pretty well for what they've been asked, but I suspect they'll be needed to do more and make less mistakes if this is to be a championship program.

White might have a tough day, UT is going to sell out to stop the run and make Stetson beat them. Lets see if Stetson is the QB we all think he is

They'll definitely sell out to stop the run. I'm looking for TE's to show up and for Pickens (or Jackson if they shade toward GP) to explode.

My main concern is stopping their running game. They are going to run right at us with the big talented OL and I'm genuinely concerned that it might be our DL that is worn out by the end of the game.
I hope I'm wrong but I think that's what they will try to do. They will likely double-team Jordan Davis to neutralize him as a factor and maybe put in an extra lineman or TE to make up the difference.
Our offense better be ready to score some points because I can easily see Tennessee scoring 4 TD's by just grinding the ball down the field. Hopefully our offense and defense will be up to the task because I think the Vols will be coming into Sanford Stadium with confidence and upset minded.

You really think they'll score 4 rushing td's against a unit that's only given up 2 in it's last 14 games? If that happens we are in more trouble then we ever thought, elite Oline or not.

I can't remember the last time we gave up 4 rushing touchdowns in a game. Hell I can't remember the last time we gave up 2 rushing tds in a game. Point is, I can see them having some success running the ball, maybe even 2 tds but I don't see them scoring those easily, let alone 4 easily.

Their D gave up 27 pts to USCe two weeks ago.
We fine

I don't see this at all.Nobody ran the ball "right at us" last year or so far this year.I think Chaney knows better than to continually pound the ball.
He'll take several shots down field probably off play action (GTMO better get rid of it) We've been vulnerable there and Auburn almost hit a big one on us last week.If they hit a few of those it might open up the running game for em.
Gotta protect Stetson... there's no doubt Pruit will try to rattle em with some blitzes.
Looks like Cook might be limited or could be out.Concerns me if he's out.

Yeah, the O-Line played well. They ran the ball last week, but early in the game they weren't exactly dominating. That late-game, wear down run game doesn't work if you're not playing with the lead, and it's much less effective when playing against elite depth.
I'll be surprised if they get more than 100 and shocked if they get more than 140 on the ground.
I'm much more worried about them hitting a couple of down-field shots, although these DBs completely outclass their receivers and QB.
Watch for them to exploit the right side of the UT line. I don't remember if it's going to be Mays or Wright or someone else, but much worse players than they'll see on Saturday had success on that side the last 2 games.

That's the key. We're too deep for UT to just ground and pound like they can against every team they've played since last OCT against Bama.
UT shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as UGA this season. Even a close game should be considered a self-inflicted failure by the Dawgs. We're favored by 12.5 and should cover.

Wow. You do realize that the last RB to run for a touchdown against this defense was Josh Jacobs, right?
If Tennessee tries to line up and play manball for four quarters, us shutting them out is more likely than them scoring four TDs.

I'm not as concerned about going against their Oline as other simply because most of these guy's have went against elite Online play in practice for the past few years, this isn't really new to them.

Would normally agree, but like I mentioned in the other thread, weather is going to play a big role in this game.
With a soaked field and rain during the game, Oline has the advantage as they know where the play is going and moving forward. I dont think they will score 4 TDs rushing, but I do think they will have a really good rushing statistic game against us.

IDK,UK had one of the better OL's
we played last year and couldn't budge budge us in that monsoon.

Yea, but I don't think they were world beaters. You also have to have SOME athletes around the Oline. I'm not saying we won't push them back, just saying that the Oline typically has the advantage with a wet field

IDK.They'll have at least 2 in the NFL next year maybe another and one
should be a 1sr rounder
I get that and UK was also completely one dimensional in the game.

I will be looking for the same thing as always, Kirby's team to go out and crush the other opponents will and win a game we should win convincingly. More first half of Auburn and less second half of Auburn.

To counterpoint, they also didn't have any threat of a passing game.
